Etymology
- The phrase "open sesame" comes from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, a story in a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales known as One Thousand and One Nights. In it, the titular Ali Baba discovers that the Forty Thieves keep their treasure in a cave, opened with the password "open sesame."
