Explorer puzzle is an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that took place from May 1, 2021, to May 7, 2021. It was used as a buildup to the release of Update 8.2 and to introduce the story of Yae Sakura and Yae Rin that took place in Senba Academy from an alternative universe.

Event rewards

• 2 correct answers: Yae Sakura - Naraku's First Hope loading screen
• 3 correct answers: Playable Raiden Mei (convert to 300 crystals if owned)
• 4 correct answers: 500 crystals
• 5 correct answers: 50 parts of Metal Shell servant.

The quest wants player to enter the Endless Trial event, stage 2–1 to look for the code appears on enemies' head

• Using the Void Sword and enter the same stage, beating enemies according to number pattern will spawn the spy. Beat the spy to complete the mission.

Day 2

This event requires enter official WeChat account, the usual sites like Bilibili or Weibo doesn't have both the question and answer.

• Find the news according to the date written in the quest: 4/29, 4/25, 4/20 and 4/23

Rearrange 4 puzzle images and connect the numbers to the chessboard, the answer is: WORLD BOSS ONE DAMAGE

• The world boss spawns that day was Yae Sakura
• One damage here means player don't hit the world boss and the game will automatically count 1 damage after times out.
• The world boss quest can be cleared at lowest difficulty which makes the boss extremely weak even for new players.

Day 3

This puzzle requires progress in pattern to unlock special note.

The puzzle can be found in special 4-Koma related to the Yae Sakura event:

• Decoding image in Braille will result: SAKURA SISTERS

This suggest there is something unusual with the Sakura event

• When entering 六等星的爱 (Sixth-magnitude love) event, looking for unusual things
• Stage 2-3 and 2-4 suggest something is unusual with the stage description compared to others
• Beat 2 stages according to the Braille pattern will result MAIN 1-3 and NO SHOOT
• Use any equipment that can damage enemies without shoot and beat the Retrospective mainline stage 1-3 without shooting.

Day 4

Ingame advertisement news system seems to appear with an unusual image:

And according to official miHoYo account on BBS, it is required to watch the Bilibili video with URL BV1b5411w71o, navigate between 00:16 to 00:18 to find a clue.

Crafting 3 clues together will end with 招出主线奉纳箱停二分钟 (Find the mainline bonus box and stop for two minutes), this suggest about the wish box on mainline S4 shrine map (which can be activated when tapping at the shrine)

• Player must keep the "make a wish" pop-up for 2 minutes to complete the mission. Quest only clear when wait for 2 minutes then press "accept" button.

Day 5

Various unusual words and sakura with different colors stamped on multiple locations:
