The Captain finds himself in a foggy environment which faded to reveal a bloody red world. He is walking towards the sound of sobbing without anything else to determine his location or distance traveled. He later encounters a mysterious voice that offers to help lead him out of what is revealed to be a dream. The voice instructs the Captain to close his eyes and fall backwards as if he were falling into a bed. The Captain comes to his senses in the dream space and makes contact with the mysterious voice, who is revealed to be Rita. After some twists and turns, Rita eventually leads him out of the dream.
The Captain finally wakes up on the Hyperion, and is introduced to Bronie and Delta, who offers him something to drink. The Captain looks around the room and finds a chessboard, and is then reminded of Kongming. He asks for her whereabouts, revealing a complicated expression on Bronie’s face. Believing Rita would be able to provide a better explanation for him, Rita arrives along with a purple-haired girl hiding behind her. Rita then leads Captain and the others to the therapy room where a little girl is found sound asleep and hooked up to a monitor, who is then introduced as TeRiRi, a magic girl Rita and the others ran into on the Captain’s assigned mission. They bought her onboard the Hyperion, believing it to be safer than that bubble universe. Bronie then introduces the Captain to the puple-haired girl, Sirin, who is a magic girl like TeRiRi. TeRiRi tried to use the Miracle Stone to wake up her partner, but was met with failure many times. Delta explains that the Miracle Stone is believed to be a seed of evil which will eventually corrupt the magic girl holding it and turn her into a Dark Lord, as well as the Ether Anchor of that bubble universe. Delta explains her intentions to retrieve the stone after Sirin uses it to awaken TeRiRi. Rita explains that during the search for the Miracle Stone, they found there might be a third party involved in the incident, and that she appeared to be observing the numerous incarnations of Theresa from other bubble universes and might have even established contact, according to the dream particles. Rita inquires Delta as to whether she came into contact with the Theresa codenamed “Luna” during the time she was working for “the master on that ship”, to which she dodges the question with indifference.
Changing the topic back to dream particles, Rita explains that they are generated while Magic Girls are dreaming. They can’t be seen by ordinary people, and contain authentic memories. She suggests Luna might have left behind some traces after coming in contact with the Magic Girls. Bronie then jumps in, saying that there were no traces of invasion to be found when Kongming went missing, and that Luna might be involved.
The Captain recalls the slip he saw under the chessboard that says "Those who can see through the game shall survive. Those who can follow their heart shall prevail.", which appears to have been written down in a hurry, and he wonders when and why Kongming would write this. Rita asks him whether he would keep searching for Luna or Kongming, leaving Captain in a dilemma. She says that he doesn’t have to decide immediately and should rest first. Sirin breaks her long silence and asks Captain about TeRiRi, and doubts he could do anything to fix the situation. The Captain decides to move the conversation to the bridge away from TeRiRi, who is resting. Sirin makes an outburst and tries to leave after Bronie told her there’s nothing that can be done to help TeRiRi since the Miracle Stone only reacts to Magic Girls. Bronie tries to go after her but is stopped by Delta, saying she’ll calm down and eventually return.
The Captain attempts to console Sirin, stating that he is an ambitious, yet powerless individual that hates himself and is dependent on others, yet finds that there are things that can only be handled by himself. He promises that he won’t turn his back on TeRiRi, but needs Sirin’s cooperation. The Captain instructs Sirin to first take a deep breath and organize her info after freeing herself from her emotions. Next he breaks down the problem and suggests that more clues could be obtained if the Theresas’ coordinates are located using the dream particles. Sirin wonders whether such a thing is possible to which Bronie confirms, saying one of them has already been found. Bronie came up with the idea while trying and failing to contact her old friends after Kongming went missing. Thinking the program is broken, she entered information extracted from the dream particles by Rita, and a result came up.
The Captain asks Bronie to look after TeRiRi on the Hyperion and keep analyzing the data to locate the other Theresas, while he takes the rest of the team to investigate the first bubble universe. Sirin asks Bronie to inform her if anything goes wrong after leaving TeRiRi with her, then turns around and pleads the Captain to save TeRiRi.

The fog faded, revealing a world of bloody red.

Why am I here? How long I've been walking? Where am I going? No clue at all. I'm just looking for something following the sobs.

Without reference, it's hard for the brain to tell the direction, and normally the right leg is stronger than the left, so people end up running in a circle.

The tail's owner was sitting on the rail and waving her legs.

N/A
(Who does that? Calling herself an enemy.)

🔇
N/A
🔇

I looked around. The same as before, only the fan waving and chess pondering person was missing.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I looked at the chessboard and something floated up my mind. It had been a while since I last played chess with Kongming.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(This game... is tough.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I sat by the chessboard and noticed a paper slip under it.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
"Those who can see through the game shall survive. Those who can follow their heart shall prevail." Seems like it was jotted down by Kongming in a hurry. But what does it mean?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Where's Kongming?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Bronie scratched her head with a "it's complicated" look on her face.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
It's hard to explain. Maybe we wait for Rosemary? There they are.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
You're not a good storyteller, Miss Bronie.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Can you blame me? I've no experience babysitting.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I'm not a kid!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The purple-haired girl stuck her head out from behind Rita with a puffed face.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Captain, feeling better now?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I'll live.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
You must be confused. Don't worry, I'll fill you in.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Everyone, please follow me.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Rita reached out her hand and led us to the therapy room which hadn't been used for ages.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The therapy room was repurposed from a facility room. Everyone has their own living quarter, but Rita insisted on a room with medical facilities.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
A little girl was sound asleep on a bed, with her soft white hair scattered around the pillow. The monitor's beeping indicated the patient's situation was stable.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(Such a familiar face... could she be...)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
She's TeRiRi, a magic girl we ran into on Captain's mission.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
To wake up her friends in slumber, she set out on a journey to find the Miracle Stone, only no miracle favored her. She was already sent into slumber when we arrived.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Considering it might not be safe to leave her in that bubble universe, we took the liberty to bring her onboard.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I nodded. It made sense. I wouldn't have stood by if I was there.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
This is Sirin, another magic girl just like TeRiRi.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
She tried many times using the Miracle Stone to wake up her partner, but it never worked. For reasons unknown, she lost her magical power and travels with us now.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The purple-haired girl named Sirin dodged her eyes away from the patient in bed. She clenched to the dull gem without a word.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
So what indeed is this Miracle Stone?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
We think it's a seed of evil which will eventually corrupt the magic girl holding it and turn her into a Dark Lord. Meanwhile, it might also be the Ether Anchor of that bubble universe.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
So you intend to take it?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Correct. After Sirin wakes up TeRiRi with it, I'll turn it in. You're not gonna deny me my rightful pay, are you?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Relax, it means nothing to me.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Good. As for whether it's the Ether Anchor, there's something weird, and my partner is still looking into it in the bubble universe.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Weird?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
While looking for the Miracle Stone with TeRiRi, we found there might be a third party pushing this in the dark. And we noticed messages left by the Theresa.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
According to the dream particles, she seemed to be watching Theresas from other bubble universes and might had contact.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The Theresa? Other Theresas? Can you speak human language?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Hmm... it's not easy to tell them apart. If you don't mind, Captain, we can refer to the Theresa by codename.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
She's been using the codename herself in the intercepted messages anyway. Seems she fancies it.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
... Hmm.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Well, Delta, when you worked for the master on that ship, did you encounter the Theresa whose codename was Luna?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Luna? Who? Ha, I see what you're getting at. Trying to work me for intel? Relax, I'm full aware I'm on a hostile boat.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The pink-haired girl frowned and looked around, while the hacker seized her up with smiling eyes.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
According to the messages I intercepted last time, Luna is a big client or business partner of your boss. You never heard her before? Looks like your pay grade is pretty low.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Whatever. I'm just a hired blade. I work for him only because it pays well.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
... I've nowhere to go anyway.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
She was unusually calm when saying this, but somehow I captured a shadow of grief underneath then calmness.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Bronie, Delta is our guest now. Go easy on her. And didn't she help us a lot in the investigation before?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Yeah yeah yeah, you're the boss. Your yes-man style will cost us dearly someday, just saying.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Well, back to dream particles. We went to the bubble universe to find something on Luna, but never thought it would be this way.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Would dream particles be a trap?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
We can't tell their origin, but that possibility has been ruled out. Dream particles are generated during Magic Girls' dreams. Ordinary people can't see them, and they're authentic memories.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Maybe Luna once made contact with the Magic Girls and left traces even she herself couldn't see.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Speaking of traces, when Kongming went missing, there were no traces of invasion. All surveillance footage was wiped out using Kongming's clearance.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I suspect Kongming's missing has something to do with Luna.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I recalled the slip under the chessboard. When did Kongming wrote this? And why?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Looks like I missed a lot.

🔇

🔇

< The screen then fades to black. >

So, what will you choose?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Keep looking for Luna, or Kongming?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
< Choosing either option results in an extra dialogue. In addition, the choice also decides who will become playable in the next stage, while the other simultaneously become their opponent. >
< If [Luna] was chosen: >
(On the rooftop, I promised to take her to the theme park; in the high tower, I promised her we'd meet again.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(She said waiting was what vampires did best, so she'd keep waiting and waiting til the day of union.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(Across time and space... I shall find her and fulfill my promises.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(But Kongming might get into danger for this, and this TeRiRi too.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
< End of the extra dialogue. >
< If [Kongming.] was chosen: >
(I walked into the darkness again and again, experiencing different tragedies over and over, only to find a silver lining that led Kongming to the future with possibilities.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(She's alien to this world, and Hyperion is her only foothold. No matter what, I can't put her in danger again.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(I fought long and hard for this future... no way it ends like this.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(But Luna's lead might go away at any time, and TeRiRi is not in a good condition either.)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
< End of the extra dialogue. >
< The screen then fades to black. >
< From this point, skip button becomes available again. >
Uh...

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
My head started to hurt.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
(What do I do? Is there a way to cover both sides?)

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Ha, Captain, you don't have to decide now. You just woke up from a jumbled dream space and you need plenty of rest.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
What about TeRiRi?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The purple-haired girl broke her long silence and stared at me.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The way she's now... she might disappear at any minute... That's the most urgent business!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
What a joke. They said the Hyperion Captain would fix everything, and I believed... It's all a lie!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Hey, don't say that.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
My headache grew stronger, and these voices cut deep into my consciousness like a thousand knives.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Captain, you all right?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I waved my hand.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Sirin.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I couldn't make her anger go away. Anyway, this debate shouldn't have happened by the sick bed.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Let's talk over there, at the bridge.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
< The screen then fades to black. >
Now we can talk?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
If you didn't plan to help from the get go, why did you bring TeRiRi here? "Work out a plan together"? I'm the only one trying to come up with a plan, and you all treat TeRiRi like a lab rat!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
The Miracle Stone only react to Magic Girls. There's nothing we can do... Wait, where are you going?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I'm taking TeRiRi away! We're not wasting time here!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Idiot, what if she gets attacked again? She's safe here.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
But staying here doesn't solve any problem! TeRiRi is all I have left, and nothing can happen to her... Let me go!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Bronie, let her go.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
She's running away!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Relax, she won't run far.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
She hates herself for incompetence but throws a tantrum at others. If you leave her be, she'd calm down in no time. I've a lot of experience dealing with kids like this.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Don't touch me! I'm not a kid!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Yeah yeah yeah, not a kid.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
You're just a bunch of nobodies and you can't do anything... You're all liars! Liars!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
With red eyes, Sirin stomped hard on the floor repeatedly like a frustrated rabbit.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I know why she was so anxious and desperate.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Alone and with nowhere to go. For her, the Hyperion crew was perhaps the only hope.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
To calm her down, I needed to say something.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
As you can see, I'm just a nobody.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I don't have iron will, or mighty strength. I'm greedy. I want to hit two birds with one stone.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I become desperate all the time. I loathe myself and put my hopes in others. In the end, I find there are things that can only be handled by myself.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
That's why you're not gonna help?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Yes, but not exactly. I made a plan...

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Enough of your nonsense!

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Shh, Sirin... I promise, I won't turn my back on TeRiRi, but I need you to work with me.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
...

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
First, take a deep breath. Free yourself from emotions and organize what you know.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Sirin took a deep breath, but only reluctantly.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I believe you have realized the three similar-looking girls are connected. No matter what choice we make, there's a question we can't walk around: what's the connection?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
To solve the problem, we need to know the problem.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
We don't know enough to form a conclusion. Maybe we can locate the coordinates of the Theresas based on information in the dream particles to get more clues.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
That can be done? Locating them?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I happened to have located one of the Theresas. If you're ready, we're good to go.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
You thought of this already?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
No no, after Kongming went missing, I tried to get in touch with my old pals, but I couldn't locate the bubble universe anyhow.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I thought the program was broken, so I entered information extracted from the dream particles by Rita, and a result came up.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
... Sounds like an obvious trap.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Better jump into it to check out than run around without any clue.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
So, Bronie, please look after TeRiRi on Hyperion and keep analyzing the data to locate other Theresas. I'll take the rest of the team to investigate the first bubble universe. Sounds good?

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I like it.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
Glad to be of service, Captain.

🔇
N/A
🔇
N/A
I turned to Sirin, who was biting her lip while looking to the therapy room's direction.

🔇
N/A
