Chapter II/2-8

Theresa introduces Rita to everyone before they go on a break. While she's admired by the students, Rita states that she's impressed by their efforts and wishes to spar with one of them. She ends up picking Kiana Kaslana and the surname piques her interest. Theresa, for yet to be specified reasons, tries to hide Kiana's ties to House Kaslana by saying she's unrelated to them.

Kiana and Rita start their speedrun competition where the Valkyrie that kills the most enemies wins. Kiana's cheered on by her friends but Rita still ends up winning. Rita compliments Kiana nonetheless, and leaves once recees starts.

Following the short break, all examined students take turns in using a sync device that'll spawn a matching opponent for them to take on. The device malfunctions once it's Kiana's turn and spawns a simulated module of an Emperor-class Honkai Beast, Ganesha, which is defeated with the help from Mei and Bronya. Following the fight, Rita compliments Kiana again and the girls are dismissed by Himeko.

On their way back, the tired Kiana is following Mei and Bronya as they talk about what happened with the device until her surrounding changes completely and causes her to stop. Mei and Bronya are nowhere to be seen.
