Kiana's confronted by the same entity that's been haunting her dreams, who's quite impressed that Ganesha was defeated given that it killed and injured multiple Valkyries during its first appearance. The entity reveals that she fought Cecilia these 14 years ago and Kiana surmises she must be the 2nd Herrscher, the Herrscher of the Void. Intend on taking revenge for her mom's death, Kiana gives chase. In the course of her pursuit, Kiana passes by many tanks occupied by girls that look similar to her, some of which break free and attack her.
Once no more obstacles stand in her way, Kiana engages the Herrscher in combat, but their battle is cut short as Kiana suddenly wakes up from the dream. She's now on the Selene, held by Mei with Fu Hua, Theresa, and Rita standing nearby. She sleepwalked onto the ship and energy from its engines is blamed for this event as well.
Having confirmed Kiana's safety, Rita excuses herself as her mission is over. Mei helps Kiana walk back to the school as Rita watches from the distance. Unbeknownst to them, Rita had a secret objective related specifically to Kiana, or K-423 as she calls her, and everything that happened today seems to be part of the plan that she and Otto are deeply involved in.
