Marut (Memorial Arena)
Last updated 2026-01-10
This article is about the Memorial Arena boss. For the Archive entry, see Marut.

Boss Description
An Imaginary Tree Aspect of Creation has been observed. Its Nihilus Shell appears to be jointly controlled by several Imaginary lifeforms, allowing it to switch freely between scattered and converging attack patterns. It also possesses its own Nihilus Seed. The reason this Imaginary Tree Aspect of Creation is able to mimic powerful Honkai Beast forms recorded in past data remains unknown. If engagement is necessary, proceed with extreme caution.

Boss Attributes
Skill descriptions are shared across all Memorial Arena brackets. But the exact boss stats are (vastly) different across brackets.
C~SS Rank
- Brutal Pressure: Marut raises its upper body, advances toward the target, and slams down with full force.
- Imaginary Beam: Marut leaps into the air and fires an energy wave at the target.
- Savage Charge: Marut rushes straight at the target.
- Chain Drop Strike: Marut jumps, rolls midair, and follows up with consecutive aerial slam attacks.
- Imaginary Burst Stream: Marut unleashes a rapid series of energy waves toward the target.
- Ramming Sweep: Marut slams the ground with its body, then spins to perform a sweeping strike.
SSS Rank
- Switch Vigilance: When Marut detects a switch in characters, its Alert Level increases by 1 (up to Level 3), and it takes less damage. The higher the Alert Level, the greater damage reduction it gains.
- Thunder Scorch Absorption: Upon entering combat, Marut absorbs all Thunder Scorch Cores. If a Thunder Scorch Core (Nihilus Seed) is destroyed beforehand, it enters a self-destruct state. Being absorbed in that state causes Marut to lose a percentage of its HP.
- Rolling Scorch Core: When Nihilus Seed enters Phase 2, it reconstructs Marut. Marut then begins rolling around the field, hurling Thunder Scorch Cores at the target. After a period of time, it locks onto the target and launches a rolling Sprint Attack. During the rolling, defeating a Thunder Scorch Core (Nihilus Seed) forces it into a self-destruct state. If Marut crashes into a self-destructing core during the rolling Sprint Attack, it loses a percentage of its HP (limited number of triggers).
- Pillar Dig Sweep: Marut digs a pillar out of the ground, lifts it overhead, and performs multiple sweeping strikes.
- Golden Shatter Synergy: At the start of Phase 2, Marut summons two Golden Pagoda Cores, and commands them to attack alongside itself.
