Merchandise

Merchandise, or just merch, are real-life items sold or gievn out in association with a brand, work of fiction, etc. For the purpose of this page, all items related to MiHoYo/HoYoverse's or HoYoLAB's mascots as well as Honkai Impact 3 and its characters even if said characters appear in different games under the same name, such as Houkai Gakuen 2, will be listed here.

The page will try to separate items into 3 categories: official merch, licensed merch, and bootleg merch.

• Official merch would be items designed by MiHoYo, generally sold on their official section on the Taobao website or offered via various limited-time promotions.
• Licensed merch would be items designed and produced by a 3rd party company, such as Good Smile Company, which has obtained the licensing rights from MiHoYo or its subsidiaries to produce a very specific merchandise.
  • While the agreements are never public, it can be safely assumed that MiHoYo gets cut from the revenue or profits the licensed merch makes and that they endorse the sold design and product quality even if they weren't heavily involved in its creation.
• Bootleg merch is unofficially mass-produced merchandise that's often based off existing official or licensed merch but made with worse quality materials.
  • MiHoYo, unless they were to sue the designer and or manufacturer of the bootleg merch, will never see any profit from purchases of bootleg merch so it is generally recommended to avoid it if you want to support the company.
  • While the amount of bootleg merch is theoretically unlimited, most common and easy to find ones will be listed to raise buyer awareness.
• Fan-made merch will not be listed.
  • Fan-made merch is allowed without official authorization as per the content creator guidelines up to 7,800 USD in gross revenue even if its sale isn't endorsed by MiHoYo. The main two distinctions between bootleg and typical fan-made merch are the scale of production and which entity is responsible for the merch (for example, private person or loosely-associated group of people vs a legally-existing company).
    • While fan-merch can be produced on mass-scale with proper authorization, it is unlikely to be featured in typical merch stores like the German Figuya or shops that include merch as part of their assortment like the international GameStop and as such can still be pretty difficult to track.
