The Moon is the only natural satellite of Earth and resides around 384,402 kilometers away.^[1] It is the main setting for the The Day of Transcending Finality arc of the story.

Description

The Moon has around 38,000,000 square kilometers of surface area and is uninhabited.^[2] On the Moon lie rocks with various inscriptions from the Previous Era.^[3]

In the Previous Era, when the Final Herrscher appeared, humanity managed to trap a part of her on the Moon.^[4][5] In August 1969 of the Current Era, Schicksal and Anti-Entropy discovered Honkai energy on the far side of the Moon.^[6][7] After finding out about the amount of Honkai energy on the far side of the Moon, both sides agreed to suspend investigations about the Moon and instead tell the public that the far side was without any defining features besides being filled with bumps and holes.^[8]

During EX Chapter, Will of Stigmata reveals to Theresa Apocalypse that the Moon is a key point in Project Stigma, which is why Theresa was pulled into a dream.^[9] Later, in Chapter XXXII, Seele Vollerei wakes up on the Moon in New Atra alongside Sora and Lyle,^[10] with the latter two having been brought to the Moon by Natasha Cioara.^[11] It's then revealed by Durandal, who was also on the Moon, that the space surrounding it had been artificially over-stabilized.^[12]

In Part 2 Chapter XIII, harmless time fractures identical to Difeng's corruption rifts began to appear on the Moon,^[13] gradually reddening it in the process.^{[note 1][14]}

  • Soviet spaceship Luna 3 takes pictures of the Moon, Otto Apocalypse rates them as confidential.^[30]

• July 20, 1969
  • 2 astronauts of Apollo 11 land on the Moon.^[7]

• August, 1969
  • A month after Apollo 11, 3 Schicksal agents land on the Moon, they find that Honkai exists on the Moon as well.^[7]

• February 12, 2000
  • Arahato spacecraft lands on the Moon.^{[31][note 2]}
