- Chess Ghost: Why is it always you?
I think I saw you outside the suppression towers...
- Chess Ghost: The Ten-Lords Commission determined me to be harmless, so they let me wander around this area.
- Chess Ghost: Come to think of it, this is a real privilege of mine. Haha!
- It's me. Have you got anything you're not happy with?
- Chess Ghost: It's you. I'm very happy.
- Chess Ghost: You and I are evenly-matched rivals, lifelong nemeses... Of course I'm happy.
- Chess Ghost: Speaking of which, I really did take possession of a chessboard before. I think it was called... Xianzhou starchess?
- Chess Ghost: The rules were byzantine. Every time I tried to learn, my consciousness would just float off somewhere else.
- Chess Ghost: ...Later on, the chessboard was picked up by this snotty little brat who hated school and who wasn't showing any interest in much at all. This would not do — I appeared from out of the chessboard, and asked this kid to knuckle down and learn some chess!

- Chess Ghost: We've locked horns so many times, my nemesis. Hasn't it clicked for you yet?

- Chess Ghost: However, this kid was soon being called a "chess prodigy". But later, when he lost his temper, he threw out the chessboard that I was inside... He said "playing chess with a real stinker is making things too stinky".
- Chess Ghost: First off, ruling out me as this "stinker" of course, who else could he have been talking about?
