Dialogue
Go check out the temple fair
Mission DescriptionThe Luofu temple fair is being held on the Skysplitter. It sounds pretty fun. Go take a look.
- ???: Holy moly! Isn't this the world-famous (Trailblazer)? What a coincidence! I can't believe I'm meeting you here!
- ???: Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Zhaoxia, an orderly at the Realm-Keeping Commission. I can't believe a small fry like me would have the honor of meeting you!
You want an autograph?
- Zhaoxia: By the Arbiter! The legendary (Trailblazer) is willing to give me an autograph?
Don't simp over me. I'm just a legend.
- Zhaoxia: I'm begging you, please don't use that new-generation lingo with me ok? Okay.
Why are you so hyped?
- Zhaoxia: It's because I'm meeting my idol! Of course I'm hyped!
Sorry, I must have entered the wrong room.
- Zhaoxia: Don't go! I'm begging you!
- Zhaoxia: Are you tired? Do you need a chair to sit on? You thirsty? I have red tea, green tea, and floral tea!
- Zhaoxia: Are you hungry? Ah! Wait here! I'll make you a bowl of beef noodles!
- Zhaoxia turns to leave, seemingly preparing to find a place to make you a bowl of beef noodles.
I don't eat beef.
Don't trouble yourself, I'm not hungry.
Are you all right up there?- Seeing that you're not keen on the noodles, Zhaoxia seems to regain his senses and takes a deep breath.
- Zhaoxia: Ah... Sorry, did I scare you?
Kinda.
It's nothing.
My fans are always this fanatical anyways.- Zhaoxia: Sorry, I can't exactly say I'm your fan... What I'm saying is I really admire you! But not to the point where I'm a fan...
- Zhaoxia: But you're the second guest at this temple fair... And you could very well be the last one. I'm actually afraid you might run away.
Second one? Who's the first?- Zhaoxia: The first one was a young lady. Who knew that there are still youngsters interested in our temple fair in this era! She looked like she had fun, I was very touched!
- Zhaoxia: The budget allocated for temple fairs by the Realm-Keeping Commission is dwindling, making it less appealing to youngsters year after year...
- Zhaoxia: The temple fair even coincides with the Wardance this year, so even fewer people attended. Honestly, having two guests already exceeds my expectations!
Temple fair? Where's the temple?- Zhaoxia: The temple fair is actually a tradition from the Primeval Imperium Era. During festivals, everyone will gather near temples to perform rituals for the gods. Later, it evolved into a market where people would gather to play games together.
- Zhaoxia: Back then, temples were a huge part of people's lives, and that's why there were temple fairs.
- Zhaoxia: But now the Reignbow Arbiter no longer requires us mortals to build temples and offer sacrifices, and the need for temples naturally went away.
- Zhaoxia: But don't you worry! As long as you join our temple fair games, your heart will surely be shouting: Fair-bulous!
- Zhaoxia: "How was the Luofu Temple Fair? It was fair-bulous!"
(Remain Silent)
- Zhaoxia: Fine, the other guest also didn't say anything when I said that. The silence from both of you is quite hurtful...
Wow. That was really cringe.
- Zhaoxia: Hmph... The other guest also didn't say anything when I said that... Is this tagline so terrible? I thought about it for a week!
This tagline's not bad.
- Zhaoxia: Really? As long as you like it! The other guest didn't say anything. I almost lost all confidence!
But I don't know what the temple fair is about.- Zhaoxia: It's actually an improved Empathic Immersia of those traditional temple fair games you used to know! The traditional Xianzhou games you had to be there personally to experience are now all available at this temple fair! Isn't it amazing?
I never enjoyed those before.
- Zhaoxia: Don't say that! The past is the past. You're living in the now!
Sounds decent. Let me try.
- Zhaoxia: Awesome! I knew you would be interested!
- Zhaoxia: If you're planning to attend the temple fair, just let me know. I'll help you link up the experience device.
I'm gonna take a tour of the temple fair.
Nah, I've got better stuff to do.
- Zhaoxia: Right you are! Feel free to come to me once you're done! It's not like I have any other guests anyway...
Let Zhaoxia connect you to the experience device
Step DescriptionFind Zhaoxia of the Realm-Keeping Commission to connect you to the experience device and have a one-stop experience to classic Xianzhou immersia.
- (Talk to Zhaoxia again)
- Zhaoxia: (Trailblazer), do you want to take a tour of the temple fair?
I'm gonna take a tour of the temple fair.
Nah, I've got better stuff to do.
- Zhaoxia: Right you are! Feel free to come to me once you're done! It's not like I have any other guests anyway...
- (Upon completing all Easy Mode puzzles)
- Zhaoxia: Congrats, (Trailblazer)! You're our Normal Mode runner-up at our temple fair speedrun competition!
There were only two competitors...
- Zhaoxia: Come now, give yourself a pat on your back! You're a bona fide runner-up!
Aw yeah! I came in second!
- Zhaoxia: That's right! You're a bona fide runner-up!
Who's the champion?- Silver Wolf: Me, of course. Who else could it be?
- Silver Wolf: And here I was thinking, why is there another real player in this abandoned Empathic Immersia... I guess no one else would be this bored besides you, (Trailblazer).
- Zhaoxia: So you know each other! I called it — GOATs of the game world clop together.
It must be hard for you, playing this bad game.
- Silver Wolf: Bad game? Not really. These mini-games actually have quite a few design aspects worth noting.
What are you doing on the Luofu?
- Silver Wolf: I heard you were joining the Wardance, and two whose-names-I-won't-mention insisted that I checked in on you... So annoying. Why couldn't those girls make the trip themselves?
- Silver Wolf: I'd also like to add that you only cleared Easy Mode. This Empathic Immersia also has a Hard Mode — I spent a little more time clearing those levels.
- Silver Wolf: I think it's pretty fun. You can give it a shot if you're interested.
- Zhaoxia: That's right! The speedrun champion for hard mode is Miss Silver Wolf! Who will our runner-up be? How exciting!
Why can't I beat her and become champion?
- Silver Wolf: Haha, in your dreams.
Who will it be? So exciting!
- Silver Wolf: You need to stop with the awkward lines. It's making me cringe.
- Silver Wolf: Anyway, it's good to see you're still in one piece. That's mission accomplished for me.
- Silver Wolf: I'm going to stop by at a few more immersia theaters, so you take your time and have fun. I'll come look for you when I've got time.
- Zhaoxia: Take care, champ!
- Zhaoxia: (Trailblazer), would you like me to activate Hard mode for you now?
I can hardly wait.
- (Upon completing all Hard Mode puzzles)
- Zhaoxia: Congrats! You're our Hard Mode runner-up at our temple fair speedrun competition!
I already told you. There were only two contenders...
- Silver Wolf: So what if there are only two contenders? Do you think any average player is qualified to be my runner-up? Be more confident!
I'll defeat Silver Wolf sooner or later!
- Silver Wolf: You probably don't have any chance to defeat me in games. Maybe we can compete in other things next time. What about stuff like competitive eating? Maybe you'd stand a chance.
Aw yeah! I came in second!
- Silver Wolf: Woah, you're clearing levels faster than I thought. You're pretty good, if I'm being honest.
- Zhaoxia: Miss Silver Wolf? Why are you back?
- Silver Wolf: The monitoring trojan that I injected into the immersia notified me that someone had cleared Hard Mode, so I came to offer my congratulations.
- Zhaoxia: Eh? You injected... a monitoring trojan...?
- Silver Wolf: Don't worry, it's harmless. I've just deleted it — both the trojan and any evidence.
- Zhaoxia: Hahaha... It's fine. You two are the only players anyway. I don't think there will be a third in the future.
- Silver Wolf: Honestly, these little puzzles from Xianzhou are pretty fun. Are you gonna do this temple fair again next year?
- Zhaoxia: Beats me, but I bet we will keep it going. I mean, it's a tradition that's been carried on for 10,000 years. We can't just stop doing it all of a sudden.
- Silver Wolf: Good to hear. Remember to invite me next time.
Please don't invite me again.
- Silver Wolf: Doesn't matter. I can play by myself just the same.
Make sure to invite me too.
- Silver Wolf: Sure. I'll show you who's the real god of puzzle games.
- Zhaoxia: Ah... I'm so thankful for you two. Thanks for not minding our low-budget trash game.
- Silver Wolf: Don't say that. Even if your game isn't some Triple-A production, it's still pretty fun to play.
- Silver Wolf: I'm head off! I still have some business to attend to. (Trailblazer), Zhaoxia, see you guys again.
Trivia
- Zhaoxia preparing beef noodles is a reference to the 2016 movie Call of Heroes (Chinese: 危城). In the movie, Cao Shaolin (Chinese: 曹少璘) is the major antagonist and a warlord's psychopath son. In one particular scene which has become a viral meme in China, Cao Shaolin went to a restaurant and heard the owner talking about the notorious crimes of Cao Shaolin himself. Not knowing that Cao Shaolin was there, the owner served beef noodles, but Cao Shaolin claimed that he didn't eat beef and shot the owner dead with a pistol.
