Hegao (Chinese: 鹤高) is an NPC on The Xianzhou Luofu, located on the Skysplitter.

Profile

Hegao is a martial artist teaching a technique she dubs "Lawless Brawl Style," which advocates using any means necessary, including brutal, unfair, and underhanded tactics, to defeat the enemy. She seeks to direct her training towards ordinary people rather than trained martial artists in order to give them the tools necessary for self-defense and dealing with criminals.

Hegao: You're right. The orthodox sects offer suitable performances, but they are not suited to your tastes.

Hegao: No worries, this doesn't really count as "traditional Xianzhou martial arts," maybe you'll be interested.

Hegao: Since I've already said so much, I won't beat around the bush. You see, I'm kinda scrawny. Honestly, I've been bullied since childhood. Since then, I've been wanting to get into martial arts.

Hegao: One of my disciples was once surrounded by twelve interstellar pirates. By using my "Lawless Brawler Style" technique, not only did he emerge unscathed, but he also fatally wounded a pirate on the spot. Eventually, it was ruled as justifiable self-defense.

What is the "Lawless Brawler Style"?

Hegao: If you're asking about our most classic moves, it's definitely the Crazy Dog Fist and Explosive Marble Kick. From just the names, you can tell that these two moves emphasize craziness and explosiveness.

Hegao: "Crazy" means making your moves chaotic, so enemies can't predict your next move. "Explosive" means every move is deadly, aiming straight for the most painful and despicable weak points.

Etymology

鹤高 Hègāo is a reference to Chen Hegao (Chinese: 陈鹤皋 Chén Hègāo), a Chinese martial artist who created a freestyle martial art known as 疯狗拳 "Crazy Dog Fist". His martial art, for the purpose of self-defense, has no restriction of weapons or techniques on the premise that it does not break the criminal law.
