Kadir

Kadir was a mentioned city-state in Amphoreus.

Overview

Kadir was a coastal city that worshiped Aquila and feared Phagousa. According to legends, Aquila gave the city the knowledge of constructing rafts and seafaring. Aquila also encouraged Phagousa to give the city knowledge of brewing fermented drinks.^[1] Dromas were kept in the city, and in one fable the hero Herakles helped to locate three lost dromas who had escaped Kadir and hide in a mountain ravine.^[2]

Empress Cerydra's army reached Kadir during the first Chrysos War.^[3]
