So what exactly do you research?

@Laughter! Pity!: I build mathematical models of people and events widely regarded as embodiments of the Elation. I analyze what gives rise to the Elation and attempt to predict how it shifts and evolves.

@Laughter! Pity!: Long story short: explaining's easy, predicting's hard.

@Laughter! Pity!: I can summarize the "Ten Principles of Video Creation," yet I cannot produce a viral hit myself.

@Laughter! Pity!: ...Yes, I know. My research is little more than an ivory tower game. Still, I hope that one day it might offer something of value. What about the proposition that "anything subjected to academic study is bound to lose its Elation"? No one has disproven that either, have they?

What value does the theology of the Elation have?

@Laughter! Pity!: Haha! Great question! The answer is: absolutely none at the moment.

@Laughter! Pity!: Well, none, except to the cosmic journals that publish my papers. Even the current theology of the Elation proves that Planarcadia possesses its own distinct theological framework... even if it predicts nothing.

@Laughter! Pity!: But theology is important! The IPC needs every planet under its umbrella to have its own theological system... At least, that's what an editor I know once said.

Why do you study a god who abandoned you?

@Laughter! Pity!: Because The Laughter despises being studied. Sure, I call myself a theologian, but I know full well that my research is nothing but a betrayal of The Laughter.

@Laughter! Pity!: But even so... I truly love them! Otherwise, I would not devote myself to studying THEM and THEIR benedictions. It is a forbidden love... if you understand.

@Laughter! Pity!: Gods and mortals can never be equals. When someone tries to claim a god as their own, they will inevitably be cast out.

@Laughter! Pity!: ...But that doesn't matter! Let me be a believer exiled by Elation itself! That is my one and only Elation!
