Dialogue
Listen- Confused Cloud Knight: What happened to you, Mimi? Can you just act normal? You're starting to freak me out, you know?
- Mimi: Hold on, Xinxin. I'm still trying to figure out the current situation.
Wait, this Diting can actually talk!?
- Xinxin: Yeah, I'm just as astonished as you are... This Diting has served me for forty years, and now it suddenly starts talking...
Did you call it "Mimi"?
- Mimi: You see, Xinxin? Someone saw you talking to your Diting and their first response was "Did you call it Mimi?" So, I guess we can say that the name "Mimi" doesn't really suit me.
- Xinxin: But I thought it was a cute name... Oh, let's forget about it for now...
- Xinxin: Hey, I know you! You're (Trailblazer), right? I've heard that you're a knowledgeable Outworlder, so maybe you happen to know why my Diting has suddenly started talking?
- Xinxin: Here's the thing: I confiscated some stolen property from the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus, and among them was a booklet called the Manuscript of Wisdom with all sorts of weird symbols on it.
- Xinxin: I didn't know what the text was, so I asked Mimi to sniff it for any scents. But as soon as Mimi started flipping through the pages, it suddenly sat down and started sighing...
- Xinxin: I mean... Mimi's a forty-year-old Diting by this point. Glitches and bugs aren't uncommon in it. It kept muttering "Humans are so stupid..." That's the first time I've ever heard it speak using a human tongue!
- Mimi: Well, I don't think we need (him/
her) to explain what's going on. Perhaps not even (he/ she) knows what has truly transpired. - Mimi: The "weird symbols" on the Manuscript of Wisdom are actually a logical circuit that enlightens its readers through visual transmission alone...
- Mimi: Literate people tend to give meanings to symbols, which will prevent them from truly understanding the contents within the Manuscript of Wisdom.
- Mimi: Thanks to this sudden enlightenment, now I've come up with 100 ways to destroy this world...
Looks like I'll have to destroy you.
- Mimi: Can't you just think before you act?
I won't believe your words until you tell me what they are.
- Mimi: Save your breath. I'm not telling you anything.
- Mimi: I'm simply too smart to do something meaningless like destroying the world. Only the morons from the Antimatter Legion or the Annihilation Gang would do such a foolish thing... In short, it's beneath me to destroy the world. Absolutely not.
- Xinxin: B-But how smart have you become? Maybe you could ask it a question, (Trailblazer)?
What's one plus one?
- Mimi: ...
- Mimi: Even an ordinary Diting could answer such a simple question.
- Xinxin: How do I even... Being able to realize how simple this question is... That's already beyond the capabilities of an ordinary Diting...
Are there more natural numbers or prime numbers?
- Mimi: They both have the same amount.
- Xinxin: Huh? But why? Isn't it obvious that there are more natural numbers?
- Mimi: It's quite elementary. There are innumerable amounts of natural numbers and prime numbers, and the set of natural numbers and the set of prime numbers have the same cardinality. Hence, there are as many natural numbers as there are prime numbers.
- Xinxin: I didn't understand any of that... but I'm pretty sure you've become smarter.
What are the winning numbers for the next lottery jackpot?
- Mimi: While I've become smarter, I can't predict the future.
- Mimi: Maybe with enough data and arithmetic power, I could come up with an answer for you, like what the Matrix of Prescience Ultima does... but for now, I'm afraid I can't give you the winning numbers.
- Xinxin: Mimi is speaking so logically... it really does seem like it's become smarter.
I don't think this is something that needs proving.
- Xinxin: If even you say so, then I'll believe that Mimi has indeed become smarter.
I'm here to retrieve the Manuscript of Wisdom.- Mimi: Your expression gave you away as soon as Xinxin mentioned that book. Please give the book back to (him/
her), Xinxin. The owner of text must have entrusted (him/ her) to retrieve it. - Xinxin: Huh? But this is stolen property. Are you sure that we should just give it to (him/
her)? - Mimi: Just give it to (him/
her). If I'm not mistaken, this book belongs to the Alchemy Commission, and (he/ she) is working for them. - Xinxin: Since Mimi says so... I'll give this book to you, (Trailblazer). Just don't lose it!
- Mimi: Please keep it safe, (Trailblazer). This book is far more dangerous than it seems. Just imagine if it wasn't a cute little Diting like me that became enlightened, but a fierce, deadly monster...
Yeah, that'd be terrible.
Then I'd just take it down with my bat.- Mimi: With your skills, perhaps so. But you understand the subtext in my words. It's best to prevent such a thing from happening at all.
What are you doing to do next, Mimi?- Mimi: I'm just a Diting. What can I do? Join the Genius Society? Hah, I'll just keep investigating cases with Xinxin.
- Xinxin: But you've become so smart...
- Mimi: Isn't it awesome to have a smart helper for solving cases? Anyway, let's not waste any more time here. We should return and deal with the stolen property.
- Xinxin: Then we'll be leaving, (Trailblazer)! Thank you for your help!
- Xinxin and Mimi leave with smiles on their faces.
- (Trailblazer): This must be the Manuscript of Wisdom that Yuluo is looking for... I should bring it back to her.
