- You notice that the facial expression of the man in front of you changes every so often despite his constant silence, as though he is thinking deeply about something.
...- (Look bewildered)
- Richard: ...!
- Richard: Fine, fine... In that case, I'll do as you wish.
- You cannot fathom exactly what message he has interpreted from your expression. In truth, since you met him, the both of you have only communicated via your eyebrows.
- Richard: You've seen it as well... Despite its name, you can't really call this a "ship," since it doesn't really require any sailors.
- Richard: Repair the ship's hull? There are other more convenient and better ways of doing that. Respond to enemy attacks? My death won't delay the inevitable by much, and besides, nobody has the courage to do that.
- Richard: As for why I'm standing here...
- Richard: "We're supposed to be on board a luxury passenger ship. How could there be no sailors at all? This experience is so unrealistic."
- Richard: Only things that are worth doing... will be worthwhile to do, even if they're terribly done. However, you can clearly see that the situation at hand is the exact opposite of the aforementioned scenario.

- Richard: In all honesty, even if I'm able to become a captain, I'm afraid my state of mind at that point in time won't differ too much from how it is now.
- Richard: There's nothing wrong with being a sailor, otherwise I wouldn't have made such a choice from the very beginning. However... the stories of sailors that I heard when I was young don't seem to match what I'm experiencing right now.
- Richard: They roamed the boundless ocean — a vast expanse that is as terrifying to behold as the end times — yet the sight that they ultimately laid eyes upon was not those of devils, nor was it the abyss.
- Richard: Instead, they gazed upon something that they'd never seen before — magnificent beaches and a sky full of stars.
- Richard: As far as I'm concerned, that is the true meaning of sailing a ship. Regardless of whether I'm journeying among the stars, or traveling through the undercurrents of the Memory Zone Depths... those are the places where I should be heading toward, not wasting my time visiting the twelve moments again and again in an endless cycle.

- Richard: Truth be told, the topics of their discussions are all strange "hobbies" that have occurred before on this ship. They're nothing to get irritated over.

- Richard: Anything that even resembled a pocket on his person was stuffed full of fresh flowers. He later told me that the flowers were rather valuable because they had been plucked from various planets and preserved using a special method.
- Richard: Apart from that... he was no different from your average wanderer. I really cannot fathom how he was able to come here.
- Richard: Per his own account, he had been drifting between the stars in search for "hope." As for exactly how he was doing so...
- Richard: Each time he met a child, he would give the flowers that he had collected to them and observe their smiles in return.
- Richard: This was how his conflict with the Pepeshi arose. He was adamant that the Pepeshi accept his gift and wouldn't take no for an answer.
- Richard: His explanation at that time was that as long as children are still able to smile upon seeing the flowers, it would mean that regardless of how this world changes, it is still worth saving... and there is "hope" of it being saved.
