Tebeth is an NPC on Penacony, located in Clock Studios Theme Park Screening Area Entrance.

Profile

Tebeth is a Penaconian whose parents were part of The Family. However, due to witnessing her family's fall from grace, she escaped Penacony and hacked the IPC security systems in order to have shelter. Because of this she currently has a bounty and is trying to escape both the IPC and the Bloodhound Family.

(First interaction): Tebeth: A home is a mysterious thing. The longer you leave it and the farther you roam, the closer you feel to it.; Tebeth: At first, home is a word with a very clear meaning. It could be a house, or it could be a planet. But, as time goes on, the meaning becomes more and more blurred. It could be those friends whose names you still remember, or that sweet you never managed to have as a child... They can all be your home.; Tebeth: It's precisely when you try to use a fixed definition to describe a home that you begin to lose it.; ...So, how do you feel now about home?; Are you missing your home?; Tebeth: ...Me? Haha, I already hate my home... because now I'm back here.; Tebeth: You're a visitor to Penacony, aren't you? You've been here for some time. Tell me, do you like Penacony?; Penacony's great.; ...I hate it here.; Tebeth: Really? Well, love it or hate it, I cannot leave this place.; Tebeth: I have no feelings towards Clockie, but throughout my long days of interstellar travel, I always chose to rewatch that cartoon to stave off the infinite emptiness and loneliness. That warm sense of familiarity... It's as good as any actual companionship.

Tebeth: I am. I could not be any more familiar with Penacony. Even my clothes are saturated with the smell of SoulGlad. Show me any character on the theme park display and I can tell you all of their backgrounds and stories in detail.

Tebeth: Penacony is a good place, especially for you guests. It's lively, fun, and never stops. You can party until the break of dawn without having to worry about any real-life problems.

Tebeth: But that is not the case for me, because this is my home.

Tebeth: Whether you like Penacony or not, this is a place that I just can't leave.

Tebeth: Ha, I've just gotten back, and I've already started to hate it.

Tebeth: ...I just don't get it!

Tebeth: I called my stubborn old man and told him I'd be taking a long vacation back in Penacony. You know what happened...? He informed the Bloodhound Family and told them to come and capture me at the hotel! He wants the bounty that the IPC put out on me!

Tebeth: You're right. I was being dumb. During that insomniac night, I shouldn't have told him everything I've done.

Tebeth: But what am I supposed to do...? I have no family left besides him. I have nowhere to return to except Penacony, either. This is the only place I have ties to.

Tebeth: But I'm not just going to hand myself in! I've managed to escape the IPC's hunts so many times, I can do it again!

Happy

Tebeth: I'm sure you've never thought how easy it would be to fool this world, have you?

Tebeth: As information technology grows more developed, the extent that we can manipulate the world grows. Perfectly imitating someone else is difficult, but synthesizing their voice, forging their electronic certificates, and stealing their biological data is extremely easy.

Tebeth: With just a small amount of effort, you can easily fool the Interastral Peace Corporation's most powerful security systems. Even a homeless person can get into the IPC's VIP lounge as long as they pass the ID verifaction!

Tebeth: A Halovian who ran away from home and an old, wealthy Pepeshi merchant... They could be exactly the same person in terms of data! The fact that system parameters cannot identify differences that any regular person could visually spot is truly laughable.

Tebeth: Don't look at me like I'm a criminal... If you want to blame someone, blame the foolish designers they hired! It would be strange if people didn't exploit such obvious loopholes!

Sad

Tebeth: It always happens, you get back to a familiar place and all of those sad and painful memories come flooding back.; Tebeth: ...I sometimes think, why did my parents have to be members of The Family? Why did I have to study the "Odes of Harmony" from such a young age? Memorizing and reciting all those words that no one cares about just to please these so-called "important figures"?; Tebeth: And why... Even though I learned them so well, was I not able to save my family?; Tebeth: Seeing my once-proud father being reduced to being subservient to others, I could no longer deal with our sudden fall from grace. So, I left Penacony selfishly and never contacted anyone again.; Tebeth: Ah... Now, I can't quite tell... Was it the changes in my family that I could not stand, or the fact that I was so powerless?
