Dialogue

Speak with "Dux Carminum" Verginia

UI Adventure Mission Mission Description

In the coastal city of endless festivities, everyone basks in a carefree, happy life in the fantasia — except Verginia, who seems to be troubled...
(Idle quotes)
Verginia: (Trailblazer), could you help me with something...
Icon Dialogue Question Verginia
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: (Trailblazer), I... I have a rather awkward request...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: I wrote a letter to Apollonius, c—could you help me deliver it to him?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Got some tea? Hey, spill it!
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: I—It's delivering letter, not tea...
Icon Dialogue Arrow Are you planning to confess to him?
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Ah, (Trailblazer), p—please don't be so... so direct...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Hmm... you m—might have already figured out the reason why.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: I was wondering if you'd be willing to help me out...
Icon Dialogue Arrow No problem, it's a piece of cake.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: R—Really!? Th—Thank you so much!
Icon Dialogue Exit I'm not good at this kind of stuff, ask someone else.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Oh, w—well then, sorry to bother you, (Trailblazer)...
(Exits dialogue)
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: ...Ah, (Trailblazer)! H—Have you had a change of heart?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Dux Carminum, I'm dying to hear the tea.
(Talk to Verginia again)
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Here's my letter. Thanks for your help, (Trailblazer).
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: B—But don't look! Otherwise, I—I'll seriously find a crack in the ground to crawl into and never come out again...

Hand the letter to Apollonius on Verginia's behalf

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

The love that "Dux Carminum" Verginia struggles to voice are all hidden in this letter. Find "Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius in the feast and pass the shy girl's feelings along!
(Go to mission target)
(Trailblazer): (This... must be the love letter Verginia wrote to Apollonius.)
Holding the letter, you search for Apollonius in the crowd, when suddenly someone taps you on the shoulder.
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Hey, honored guest! So, did you drink to your heart's content at the party?
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: If you're free, why don't you join us... hmm, what's that you're holding?
Gossip is a constant in human nature. You told the truth about how Verginia asked you to deliver a message to Apollonius...
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Haha! Little Verginia has always worn her heart on her sleeve, even if she never said it out loud.
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: Is she finally going to make her move... This is so exciting!
Icon Dialogue Arrow How did they meet?
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Once, Verginia visited the Grove as a diplomatic messenger and witnessed Apollonius debating against four Sages.
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: That time, in a rare display of anger, he declared: "Since you care more about Cerces' survival than the world's destiny, I shall destroy their divine form first!"
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: He grabbed a sling and lobbed a heavy stone at Cerces's divine form, sending the other Sages scurrying away in panic.
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Little Verginia was also scared and didn't dare talk to him for a long time. But after getting to know him, she discovered that Apollonius was actually an exceptionally gentle fellow.
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: Apollonius would carefully frame every poem she wrote and give her encouragement.
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: But he is so warm and friendly to everyone, he's completely clueless.
Icon Dialogue Arrow With my help, even a rock would get a clue.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Shippers, leave it to me.
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: To be honest, we can see the tenderness in little Verginia's heart... we just can't reach it.
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: Last month, little Verginia wrote a Praisesong in Ancient Kremnoan for Labienus, and he read it backwards!
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: What are you laughing at, you sky barbarian? She carefully picked out that headscarf for you, and you went and tied it to your staff like a battle flag!
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: ...Anyway, esteemed guest, I'm really counting on you.

Keep looking for Apollonius and pass the letter to him

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

Two gossiping Chrysos Heirs who stopped you slipped some history between Verginia and Apollonius. The letter in your hands now seems even heavier
(Go to mission target)
Icon Dialogue Talk Apollonius
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: What should we... no, what should I... do...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Ah, (Mr./Miss) (Trailblazer), my apologies. I tend to get lost in thought sometimes.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Dux Helkolithist, there's a letter for you.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Looking at how this letter is folded, it must be from little Verginia. She must have written another beautiful poem...
Apollonius unfolds the letter and reads it carefully.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: ...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Thank you for delivering the letter.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Did you read the letter and feel nothing at all?
Icon Dialogue Arrow You silly goose, is something on your mind?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: ...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: If you don't mind, I'd like to tell you some stories about little Verginia.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: She's a girl who loves to dress up and write poetry, often discussing fashion with Dux Goldweaver and frequently composing ballads with Dux Fatorum.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: However, her nature was never accepted since childhood. She feared battles, feared the deafening roars, feared the crisp clang of clashing metal...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Those grand poems are just scrap paper for wiping blades in Castrum Kremnos.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: After being banished from her tribe, little Verginia joined the Flame-Chase Journey before she finally found a place to belong.
Icon Dialogue Arrow She's a good kid.
Icon Dialogue Arrow So, what about you?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: She's a poet like the wind, free to go wherever she wants and linger wherever she pleases. As for me...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: ...You should head back. Just tell her I'm still thinking about it. I'm counting on you.
You tell Verginia about Apollonius's response. She looks a little let down, but quickly cheers up after your consolation.
When the next Entry Hour arrives...
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: Apollonius is missing? Since when?
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Yes... After (Trailblazer) came back from delivering the letter yesterday, I finally decided to gather my courage and tell him face-to-face.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: But Apollonius was nowhere to be found, and I couldn't even reach him through the teleslate...
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: That idiot, did he just run away?
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: The most urgent matter now is to split up and find him. (Trailblazer), I'm terribly sorry, but I'll have to ask for your help with this too.
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: There's a Janus' Maze in the ancient ruins below the city, and the last sighting of Apollonius was recorded around there.
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Perhaps with your power as a Priest of Time, we can track down Apollonius.

Enter the ancient ruins under the city and look for Apollonius's tracks

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

Who would have thought that Apollonius disappeared... He was last seen in the ancient ruins under the city. Advance after the fragments of memory and look for traces of him
(Go to mission target)
An afterimage... So Apollonius was definitely here. Let's see where he went next.
(Descend elevator)
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius:" The destiny-guiding Janus' Maze lies beneath these waters...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius:" What a secluded dwelling... Is this place also not meant for festivities?

Head to the Janus' Maze and look for traces of Apollonius

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

The destination of Apollonius's trip seemed to be the Janus' Maze... What was he trying to learn through this device?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius:" This path feels familiar... Could destiny itself be guiding me to uncover its mysteries?
Icon Dialogue Talk Apollonius
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: I remember the Library of Philia has records about how to use Janus' Maze. Allow me a moment to recall...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Gate of InfinityPassage Titan, please guide me — "Where should the floating stone that awakens from dreams go?
The Maze groans deeply...

View the records of Apollonius using the Janus' Maze

(Investigate the Janus' Maze)
(Solve the puzzle)
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: The guidance from the Gate is — "The egress of banquets, the border of futility"...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: As expected... Janus didn't guide me, but rather reinforced the choice I had already made in my heart... No need to hesitate any longer.
(Trailblazer): "The egress of banquets, the border of futility"... Is he planning to leave Styxia!?
(Trailblazer): As a part of the illusion, he'll vanish if he leaves... I must stop him quickly!
(Trailblazer): Looks like this Janus' Maze is still operational, but we'll have to come back and explore it another time.

Head to the entrance of Styxia and stop Apollonius, who is trying to leave the city

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

Apollonius now wants to leave the fantasia after learning the truth behind the feast? You must stop this death-seeking-behavior...
(Approach Apollonius)
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: I had the same feeling back when I first planned to leave the Grove. But this time... I can't believe I hesitated for so long about running away.
Icon Dialogue Arrow You'll die if you leave this place!
Icon Dialogue Arrow Why not enjoy this never-ending party?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Ah, (Mr./Miss) (Trailblazer)... I knew you would be the one to find me here.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: But your reaction reaffirms the truth that Janus' Maze revealed to me—
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: This banquet is but an illusion, and I am merely a bubble in this fantasy. Once I leave this place, I will vanish without a trace.
Icon Dialogue Arrow If you knew that, why did you...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: It's because I am a Sage, the Imperator's Advisor, and a Flame-Chasing Chrysos Heir.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: As I indulged in the honey brew, a needle-sharp thought pierced my mind — could the Flame-Chase Journey really be this perfect? Could a mere banquet truly bear the weight of Amphoreus's tragic destiny?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Once a Sage harbors such worries, they can no longer enjoy the banquet, and will inevitably embark on a self-destructive path in pursuit of truth.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Think about our friends, think about Verginia...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: ...I'm sorry, but it's precisely because I care about them that I must leave this place.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: As I told you before, Verginia is a poet like the wind. And I... I am but a stubborn boulder on a cliff.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: The stubborn boulder remains unmoved by the gentle breeze, for its heart is bound to the world's destiny...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Now, the wind has found her place. Not just her, but Seneca, Labienus too... they've all been through so much on this journey.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Making this banquet their final destination must be that companion's act of mercy.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Hysilens, the master of the feast...
Icon Dialogue Arrow So, you already know this much.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Yes. Since doubts first arose, I've learned far too much. I'm a discordant noise at a party — the worry between my brows steals smiles from those I love, even dragging them away from this beautiful scene...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: That's why the stubborn boulder of reason must tumble down the cliff — it can't bear to disturb the serene lake surface on the other side, where gentle breezes blow.
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...I understand.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Farewell, Dux Helkolithist.
Icon Dialogue Arrow But what about them if you disappear...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: That's probably the least of our worries.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: It was meant to be a perfect, endless banquet, where no one would cry or grieve, where only honey brew would warm the heart, and only joyous songs would entice the soul.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Just like the legendary Era Nova. Isn't that right... Hysilens?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: See you around, (Trailblazer)... until we meet again.
Just as Apollonius passed through Styxia's gates, his entire being dissolved into sea foam and vanished into thin air...
...like this grand revelry was a dream that couldn't bear the weight of a single sobering thought.
Apollonius just dissolved into bubbles... How am I going to tell Dux Carminum and the others...

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

Apollonius had returned after his disappearance? How is this possible...
(Go to mission target)
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: Apollonius, where have you been? We've been looking all over for you!
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Sorry, my head's still a bit woozy. Must've passed out from too much honey brew and dozed off somewhere. Thanks for worrying about me.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: I heard you went through quite some trouble, (Mr./Miss) (Trailblazer). Please allow me to offer you my sincere apologies.
Icon Dialogue Arrow Are you... really Apollonius?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: I am, without a doubt, Apollonius, Sage of the Grove and advisor to the Flame-Chasers.
Icon Dialogue Arrow You... are you okay?
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Hmm, of course I'm fine. I'd love to keep enjoying this banquet with everyone.
Icon Dialogue Arrow So, about Verginia's confession...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: A confession...?
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Apollonius, don't forget to apologize to little Verginia too. She thought you went missing because you didn't know how to face her and has been blaming herself for quite a while.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Little Verginia, you...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: I—I'm not blaming myself, and Apollonius doesn't need to apologize. It's just that, I want to t—t—try again... with everyone here as witness...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Apollonius, please allow me to recite a poem of praise for you. This is a poem that I've... kept buried deep in my heart for so long.
Verginia closes her eyes and remains focused for a while. When she opens her eyes again, her demeanor has completely changed.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: "The shadow of a tree frames the sage's back, like a boulder bearing the rings of time."
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: "The bird's song is a whisper of wind through the forest, but it cannot pass the fractures in his form."
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: "His weight presses down on the bird's wings... and the stirring heart within."
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: ...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: Little Verginia, for a long time, I've prided myself on my subtle and restrained rationality.
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: But I've always wanted to tell you, you look beautiful when you recite poetry. I've dreamed that when we reach the new world, we'll stand side by side...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Why... why do we always have to wait? We're all here — you, me, everyone... This is clearly our new world!
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: ...I'm sorry, Apollonius, I got a bit carried away...
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: No, little Verginia, you're right, this is the new world. What I mean is... maybe it's time to face and embrace that passionate soul of yours.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: ...!?
"Dux Fragoris" Labienus: Congratulations, little Verginia! It wasn't easy getting through that thick skull!
"Dux Brumalis" Seneca: I should congratulate you two... *sigh* How heartwarming, *Skyfolk swear word*!
Icon Dialogue Arrow ...Congrats!
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Thank you everyone, thank you all, thank you...
???: Congratulations, my friends...

Speak with Hysilens, who is standing apart from the crowd

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

Apart from you and the Chrysos Heirs, it seemed the master of this feast also witnessed Verginia's confession.
(Go to mission target)
Icon Dialogue Talk Hysilens
Hysilens: Hello, Gray Fry. A feast, you see, is like waves and undercurrents woven from the ocean currents of our souls.
Hysilens: What we're witnessing right now is an exceptionally pure and beautiful whitecap... don't you think?
Icon Dialogue Arrow This is just a fantasy of your own making...
Icon Dialogue Arrow Dux Helkolithist... you restored him, didn't you?
Hysilens: I didn't deliberately do anything. In Styxia, where eternal songs resound, Phagousa's divine power fulfills all wishes.
Hysilens: Apollonius, burdened by the world's destiny, is forever plagued by doubts, destined to leave the banquet and dissolve into a bubble of foam.
Hysilens: And Verginia would only share her romance with her beloved. Even knowing they were only an illusion born of memories, her resolve would not waver in the slightest.
Icon Dialogue Arrow He's always having doubts...!?
Icon Dialogue Arrow She knew it was just an illusion...!?
Hysilens: Seems you haven't noticed the undercurrents beneath those waves, Gray Fry.
Hysilens: Go and see. Go see the border of this illusory banquet, where stones hang suspended and gentle winds cease. See my companions... in their truest form.
Hysilens: Perhaps then you'll better understand what these banquets mean to me, to them... and to this world.

Head to the entrance of Styxia and learn about Verginia's resolve

UI Adventure Mission Step Description

The stone is willing to roll down a cliff for the wind. The wind, too, is willing to still its steps for the stone.
(Go to mission target)
"Dux Helkolithist" Apollonius: ...I can't believe I hesitated for so long about leaving. Farewell, my friends... May you forever enjoy this endless banquet.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: ...That's the one hundred and forty-second time. Dear Apollonius, this is the one hundred and forty-second time you've carried that worried look, leaving Styxia and our banquet behind.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: And tomorrow, you'll be by my side again. Your face will be filled with kindness then, like a gentle stone statue.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: I not only witnessed it, I cried and tried to stop you, but you would always leave without hesitation in the end.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: Whether storming out of the Grove in anger, or leading the charge against Ocean... you always see yourself as an immovable boulder, trying to hold the world's destiny in balance.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: That's who you are, dear Apollonius, even though we're now just bubbles in an illusion...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: You haven't changed, and neither will I.
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: I don't care if we're bubbles or ocean currents, reality or illusion...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: All I know is that I've made up my mind to recite that love poem for you a hundred times, a thousand times, to express that romance that deserves its response...
"Dux Carminum" Verginia: We'll sleep side by side for the first time, and countless times after... and never have to wake up from this dream again.
