Dialogue

Icon Dialogue Agent Meet Remielle at Beckford Street

Meet up with Remielle at Beckford Street and take a stroll through the streets at night.
You meet up with Remielle at Beckford Street
(Talk to Remielle)
Remielle: It's so quiet... It's like there's no one else in the world but you and me.
Remielle: When I was little, I always looked forward to the evenings. I hated having to go to bed at nine every night. Every time I climbed into my little bed, it felt like such a waste.
Remielle: There was still so much I wanted to do, so much more I wanted to learn about the world... But then... "Just like that, the day's over."
Remielle: Sounds silly, doesn't it? I didn't know any better. I was just terrified of things coming to an end. But if today never came to an end, how could tomorrow ever start?
Remielle: But even now... maybe I still don't understand. I don't want today to end. I don't want to let go of the past. Maybe... I just don't want to start the journey again.
Icon Dialogue Talk It's okay if it doesn't end.
Remielle: Hm... So that's how you see it.
Remielle: But enough about that. What's important is the here and now.
Remielle: The peaceful streets are waiting for us. Let's go. It'd be a shame to waste such a beautiful night.
(While following Remielle)
Remielle: There's something wonderfully surreal about it...
Remielle: If only I didn't need to sleep at night...
Remielle: I wonder what everyone's up to...

(Upon arriving at the phone booth)
Remielle: A phone booth...
(Talk to Remielle)
Remielle: In old movies, phone booths were always so busy.
Remielle: Secret rendezvous, late-night confessions, good news from afar, a friend's final farewell... The night carries all kinds of stories.
Remielle: It's where some lives take a different turn, and where some regrets begin... Isn't that interesting?
Remielle: Here's a question. If a telephone line stretched all the way into the past, who would you call?
Icon Dialogue Talk Another one of your little Q&A games?
Icon Dialogue Talk You really never get tired of this, do you?
Remielle: What's wrong with that? It suits us, doesn't it?
Remielle: Come on, tell me! If it makes it fair, I'll let you ask me a few extra questions afterward.
Icon Dialogue Talk Hang on, let me think for a second...
Remielle: Ah! We're out of time, my partner-in-crime! I'll go hide. Make sure you cover for me!
Icon Dialogue Talk Hold up, what's that supposed to mean?
Remie darts into the phone booth. Before you can make sense of what's going on, a flurry of hurried footsteps draws closer, and a Patrolboo appears before you.
Serious Patrolboo: En-nah, nhu-nah? (Hello. You've been standing here for quite a while. Is there something wrong with the phone booth?)
Serious Patrolboo: Nhu-nha, ehn. (It's alright. I'll take a look inside. There are other phone booths nearby if you'd like to try one of those.)
Icon Dialogue Talk Don't go in there!
Serious Patrolboo: En-nah? (Why?)
Icon Dialogue Talk B—Because...
Serious Patrolboo: Nhu-ne, ehn nu? (You're awfully tongue-tied. Could there be something you're hiding?)
Icon Dialogue Talk I—I'm confessing my sins to it!
Icon Dialogue Talk Yeah, that's it!
The Patrolboo's eyes go wide. It doesn't seem to understand what you just said, but somehow reaches a conclusion anyway, looking at you with something close to pity.
Serious Patrolboo: En-na, nhu-na. (Using a phone booth as a confessional...? Sigh... Young people really do watch too many movies these days...)
Serious Patrolboo: En-ne, en nhu. (So that's why you were talking to the phone booth... Why didn't you just say so? I thought there was a wanted criminal hiding inside.)
Serious Patrolboo: Nhe-nhu, nhe? (But... wouldn't you normally do your confessions inside it? Why are you stood out here?)
Icon Dialogue Talk Huh? N—No, that's not necessary...
Icon Dialogue Talk I don't have to go inside, do I?
Serious Patrolboo: En-nah? Nhe nhu? (How could that be okay? You have to respect the... setting... Uh, I mean, you need to confront your true feelings.)
Serious Patrolboo: Nhe-nhu, en na. (If you're nervous about going in alone, I'll stay out here with you. After all, helping residents is my duty.)
Icon Dialogue Talk How awfully kind of you.
Icon Dialogue Talk I'll be fine on my own...
With the Patrolboo watching on approvingly, you slip into the phone booth...
The door swings shut, sealing the world outside.
There's barely enough room for the two of you inside the cramped booth. In the dim light, your eyes meet for a brief moment. She smiles softly, saying nothing.
Even the air seems to grow thick. You listen to the loud pounding of your hearts, waiting for the footsteps outside to gradually fade away...
Remielle: Whew... Glad that's over. I had no idea it'd be so stuffy inside.
Remielle: By the way... a confession? How did you even come up with that?
Remielle: And the Patrolboo actually bought it! It took everything I had not to laugh!
Icon Dialogue Talk You're the one who brought up those old movies...
Icon Dialogue Talk You put way too many ideas in my head...
Remielle: You've got quite the imagination. So... what does this little lost lamb need to confess to me?
Icon Dialogue Talk To confess my terrible sleep schedule.
Icon Dialogue Talk To confess to eating too many snacks.
Remielle: Hey, aren't you going to confess to disturbing the lady in the phone booth?
Icon Dialogue Talk I didn't really have a choice.
Remielle: Really? You couldn't think of any other solution? Come on, use that clever head of yours. There had to be a better way. Or... were you actually enjoying yourself?
Icon Dialogue Talk I really wasn't.
Remielle: Hmm... let's say that's the case. It does make us feel more like partners-in-crime, doesn't it?
Remielle: You never know. Open any door, and you might stumble onto some huge secret...
Remielle: When the phone rings, no one knows whether it'll bring a reunion... or a farewell.
Remielle: Phone booths really are fun. Let's go exploring one together again sometime~
Trust Rank Friendly Trust increase with Remielle Dan
