- Zhao: I hadn't eaten for days. The owner, who's an old man, saw I was in trouble.
- Zhao: He took the necklace I'd always worn around my neck. It was the only thing I had of any value.
- Zhao: Then he gave me enough money so I wouldn't go hungry for at least a month.
- Zhao: That's when I first realized... if you want something, you have to give something in exchange.

- Zhao falls silent for a moment, then picks out a small bracelet from the display. It's a string of translucent stones that glitter in the light.
