What matters is the people you share a meal with is a Quality Time Invite for Trigger in Blazewood.
Steps
- Have a meal with Trigger
Dialogue
- You meet up with Trigger in Blazewood.
- (Talk to Trigger)
- Trigger: Before we eat, could you first introduce some of the specialty dishes of the Outer Ring?
It's been a while since I've eaten here...
Let me think...- Trigger: I'm not asking you to memorize the menu. It's just eating with you, Proxy... it feels like a new experience.
- Trigger: I'd also like to hear about your connection with the Outer Ring... Would you share it with me while we eat?
It's a long story...- Trigger: That's okay. As long as you don't mind telling it, I could listen all day.
- (While following Trigger)
- Trigger: Let's take a stroll around the Outer Ring before eating.
- (Near Officer Mewmew)
- Trigger: Proxy... is this Public Security's mascot?
- Trigger: If I'm not mistaken, inside is definitely...
- Trigger: ...Hmm, even if I told you, you wouldn't believe me.
- (Upon arriving at Cheesetopia)
- Trigger: Such a pleasant breeze... it smells like tumbleweed.
- (Talk to Trigger)
- Trigger: Are we eating around here? This town has such a unique atmosphere... You've played a big role in its development, haven't you?
I wasn't the only one.
Along with the Sons of Calydon.- Trigger: ...You mean your partners?
- Trigger: Though I've never met them, they seem like a lively bunch. The air here is filled with a faint smell of Nitro-Fuel, mixed with the scent of tumbleweeds... Every corner reflects their personality.
- Trigger: It's clear both you and they have been very active here. If you're willing, I'd love to hear you share their story.
Tell Burnice's Story
- You tell Trigger Burnice's story. She's an optimist who seems like she's burning with energy every second, with a somewhat careless attitude toward others' lives — the embodiment of "living in the moment"...
Trigger laughs several times as you speak. - Trigger: What an interesting person! I feel like she'd get along well with Seed... but she probably wouldn't try to persuade Seed to drink Nitro-Fuel, right?
- Trigger: I imagine all the unhappy moments just vanish with a friend like that around.
- Trigger: From your description, she sounds like someone who was originally much colder... not the type of person you'd want as an enemy.
- Trigger: But I'm sure she's enjoying every day spent with her companions now. I'm sure she cherishes her current life.
- Trigger: To be honest, I envy her a little. Living so carefree isn't easy. She might just be doing it better than anyone else I know.
Tell Lighter's Story
- You tell Trigger Lighter's story. The Champion, known for being bold when it counts but mostly preferring to watch over his companions from the sidelines, keeps his distance from everyone. But he'll open up a little about his past occasionally...
When you're done, you're taken aback to see tears on Trigger's cheek, without even realizing when they appeared. - Trigger: Sorry, I'm fine... It's just a little sad.
- Trigger: Having lost important people before, he's always worried about losing others, making it hard to get closer to anyone.
- Trigger: Forming deeper connections with others might make your soul more complete, but losing them again shatters your soul even further... That's a very frightening prospect.
- Trigger: I understand the feeling, because I'm like that too.
- Trigger: But it sounds like you and your other companions are gradually helping him embrace his present and his future.
- Trigger: I won't let go of the things I hold onto. Even if I can't bear the thought of losing you and the others, I will hold onto you all tightly and never let go.
- Trigger: I hope Lighter comes to the same realization... I think that's the reason you two met.
Tell Piper's story
- You tell Trigger Piper's story. With her small frame, mysterious age, and mature personality, she's Calydon's most reliable truck driver. She's always sharing wisdom that sounds like something only an elder could say...
By the end, you notice Trigger's expression isn't what you expected. There's an indescribable sadness in her eyes... - Trigger: If I could meet Miss Piper... I'd want to give her a hug.
- Trigger: The carefree way she looks forward to the future, I think, is more about avoiding looking back at the past.
- Trigger: I sense regret and a sense of helplessness in her attitude... Perhaps it's that sorrow that became the driving force behind her growth.
- Trigger: Proxy, if you can, please be there for her along with the others. No matter how much she insists she's not important, please take her real feelings seriously.
- Trigger: Her sadness probably hasn't been fully resolved yet... But with you all by her side, I'm sure it will slowly fade away.
- (All choices lead to the following)
You really get it.
You're really good at reading people...- Trigger: Not really, I just want to know people more. From what you've said, it feels like there's some emotions they don't express.
- Trigger: Those emotions have shaped who they are today, and have also shaped their current relationship with you.
- Trigger: I'm sure learning about these things before we eat will make the meal feel more meaningful.
- Trigger: Thank you for sharing these stories with me, and the memories and marks you've left on the Outer Ring. You've created stories here with some very good friends.
Now I'm here with you, someone important to me.
Let's make some memories here too.- Trigger: Since you put it that way... can I have you all to myself for the next few hours?
- Trigger: I want to try all the delicacies in the Outer Ring...
- You enter the restaurant in Blazewood with Trigger, take a seat, and order a few signature dishes, along with the iconic drink of the Outer Ring — Nitro-Fuel! You share various stories about the Outer Ring and some recent amusing anecdotes with her while you eat. She laughs happily, the gentle breeze of the Outer Ring and either the sunlight, or perhaps the Nitro-Fuel, gives her cheeks a rosy glow...
- Trigger: Lately, I've only had time for meals in between missions. It feels like it's been ages since I've had a meal this relaxed... Thank you for inviting me, Proxy.
Let's come back again sometime!
- Trust increase with Trigger
- Trigger: Sure, as long as you contact me in advance, I can definitely make the time.
- Trigger: I'd love to meet your friends from the Outer Ring next time too... and become friends with them.
- Trigger: My former squadmates told me that, instead of the food, what matters more is the people you eat with. This must have been exactly what they were talking about.
I'll cook next time!
- Significant Trust increase with Trigger
- Trigger: ...Hm? Is that really okay?
- Trigger: I'd love to try your cooking! I've always wondered how good of a cook you are.
- Trigger: No, actually, it doesn't matter how the food turns out... After a bloody battle, having someone prepare a meal and wait for you, I think that's the most universally recognized moment of happiness for everyone in the Defense Force, myself included.
- Trigger: It's not about what we're eating, it's about having a meal with you. You can't go back on your word now, okay?
- Trigger: Ah, if we could do this every day, I might just end up bragging to everyone in my squad...
I'd love to try your cooking next time!
- Significant Trust increase with Trigger
- Trigger: Hmm... I'm not sure if my cooking will be to your liking...
- Trigger: To be honest, I've already figured out how to make all the dishes on the menu. Whatever you'd like to eat, Proxy, I should be able to make it for you... Theory and practice are two different things, however, so it might not turn out perfect...
Just being able to eat together is enough.- Trigger: Haha, that's exactly what my old squadmates would say... That's right, As long as I'm with you, I'm happy enough.
- Trigger: But I'll still do my best to win over your stomach... I hope you'll look forward to it!
- Trust increase with Trigger
