The children have each been assigned their respective duties and responsibilities, and so, long stretches without seeing one another have become the norm. Still, here beneath the roof of the House of the Hearth, closeness is not measured by the frequency of our meetings. If anything, each reunion carries greater weight for its rarity.

I have declined several of the more tedious visits and engagements in recent days, hoping to set aside a little more time to quietly enjoy this freshly brewed, fragrant pot of tea with my family. After all, a moonlit night before the storm is always especially precious — and all the more fleeting.

Tea, once cooled, loses its flavor. I've asked Lynette to keep the pot warm by the hearth. So if you happen to be passing by, do come in.
