The Nui family is an ancient clan from the People of the Springs tribe of Natlan.

In the modern day, many of the Nuis stay close to home and work in the tourism or service industries. According to their present matriarch, Kupo Nui, everyone in the family is gainfully employed.^[1]

Trivia

• Irqichaykuna Nui is the only family member with a Quechuan name, rather than a Polynesian one. Appropriately, he seems to feel somewhat excluded by the family, as he insists "I'm a Nui too!" in his idle quote.

Etymology

• Nui means "big" or "great" in multiple Polynesian languages, including Hawaiian, Māori, and Rapa Nui.
