Pohjola is an island in Nod-Krai. It is located north of the Southern Isles and consists of Voidsea Outlook, Wavechaser Plain, Ashveil Peak, and Dunanna Pit.^[1]^{[Note 1]}

Areas

During an unspecified time period between the war of funerary flame and the Archon War, the Third Descender of Teyvat was slain by the Heavenly Principles in Pohjola, and his remains were turned into the seven Gnoses.^[2]^{[Note 2]}

Pohjola, sometimes just Pohja, is a location in Finnish mythology. It is one of the two main polarities in the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala, along with Kalevala or Väinölä.

↑ Volume 2 of Hymns of the Far North describes the Third Descender as being carved into seven pieces by an individual known as Pitkamoonen. Based on their entry in Volume 1, Pitkamoonen is strongly implied to be an alternate name for the Heavenly Principles. Likewise, Skirk claims in Finale that the seven Gnoses were created from the corpse of the Third Descender, and according to Neuvillette's character profile Vision story, this deed was performed by the Heavenly Principles and another unidentified person. Therefore, it is heavily suggested that Saarelainen is the identity for the Third Descender.
