Rajput was Sachin's father and a wealthy merchant well known in Sumeru who raised his son in a wealthy family. When he died of unknown causes when Sachin was 23, Sachin inherited his fortune and took over his business in Sumeru City, which he managed for two years before returning to his research in the desert at the age of 25.
