Vindia

Last updated 2026-09-10

Vindia, real name Vindogeneta de Uxellobrogi, is an open-world NPC located in Mahavaipulya Chamber: Library, Mahavaipulya Chamber, Temple of Space.

Location

Profile

Vindia is one of the "Uplifted," people chosen to be preserved as living memories in the Temple of Space.

Before she got uplifted to the temple, she was the Queen of the tribe "Uxellobrogi" during the final years of the Remurian Empire. Her tribe was captured first by the Remurians and later by Erinnyes and the Aremorica tribe.

Appearance

Vindia is a tall, fair-skinned woman with long white hair that is tied into two braids in the back. She wears a toga made of layers of white and dark blue fabric. The toga is adorned with golden details and is held in place by a strap around her torso. Vindia also wears black and gold sandals with heels and a laurel wreath.

Dialogue

Vindia: Watch your step, dear. This place is teeming with books. It'd be quite a headache if you accidentally tumbled into one of the stranger books.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Who are you?
Vindia: My name is Vindogeneta de Uxellobrogi.
Vindia: Hard to pronounce, isn't it? It's so long that even I can't be bothered to say it. You can just go by what the Remurians do and call me "Vindia."
Vindia: Mr. Castiglione mentioned that the descendants of the High Sea would call me the "Madam Snow-Winged Goose"... but there's no need for you to use that. It makes me sound like some strange old crone.
Vindia: I was once the Queen of Uxellobrogi. As for now? I'm just an ordinary fairy tale writer.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Queen...
Vindia: Honestly, there wasn't much of a difference. When I was Queen, my only job was to smile and nod. Having nothing better to do, I spent my time penning fairy tales in secret.
Vindia: Whether it was surrendering to the Remurians or to the High King ofErrighenth Aremorica, those were decisions made by the regency elders.
Vindia: So, you see, even when that deity brought me to this place, no one actually cared.
Vindia: Besides, this way, I won't be forced to go to Aremorica to pay my respects, put on a fake smile, and listen to those barbarians who don't even bathe...
Vindia: Sorry, I meant my venerable compatriots. Anyway, I'm spared from listening to them and that woman bickering endlessly over how many people they should kill. Honestly, she deserves to stay single for the rest of her life. A wonderful ending, wouldn't you say?
Icon Dialogue Talk White What's that book over there?
Vindia: As you can see, it's just a "storybook" that's been knocked over.
Vindia: A never-ending tea party, a clock that runs backward, talking penguins, and a princess of flowers... In short, nothing but useless fairy-talefantasies.
Vindia: After all, fairy tales are written for children who refuse to go to sleep. And the children here, my dear friend, have been awake for far too long.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'm leaving now.
Vindia: Goodbye, dear. Watch your step, don't fall into the rabbit holes.
(After completing the Hidden Exploration Objective Knock! Knock!)[Note 1]
Icon Dialogue Talk White What's that room over there?
Vindia: Oh, my dear, it would be best not to disturb him. Mr. Bickerstaff has quite the temper. Writers who wrestle with satire but can't quite finish the novel often end up like that.
Vindia: Her Majesty the High King ofErrighenth Aremorica has more than a few such fellows in her service as well. In a sense, I suppose you could call it a kind of knightly spirit.

Trivia

Etymology

  • The tribe name Uxellobrogi appears to be derived from Gaulish elements: Uxello- means "high," as in Uxellodunum, and -brogi means "land" or "territory," as in Allobroges.
