Adam
Last updated 2026-09-10
Adam is the main protagonist of A Post-Honkai Odyssey. The APHO story is seen from his point of view and his alias can be altered from the APHO main screen.
His signature weapon, Labor of Olympus, can be acquired by playing the APHO game mode.
A balanced melee fighter who wields a 2-handed sword with medium Attack Speed and damage, versatile against all enemy types.
Deals primarily Physical DMG and can cast Ultimate to enter burst mode where he deals Fire DMG instead, builds up Ignite Trauma to Ignite enemies (which take Fire DMG over time for 10s).
During Ultimate and certain special moves, the weapon transforms into an odachi with greater attack range.
Name
In-game, he is called Protagonist,[1] Main Character,[2] or X-Member.[3]
He was additionally labeled as ###[4] and referred to as "silent protagonist"[5] in news related materials.
Yet, he is referred to as Adam (Chinese: 亚当) by the community due to game files calling him so combined with the need to separate him from game's other protagonists like Kiana Kaslana or Dreamseeker. The name was also seen used in a certain ad promoting APHO.

Speculations
As this content might be questioned by the community, information from this section shouldn't be quoted or referenced as if it was factual on other pages and, when referenced, it should be placed under a Speculations header there as well.
- MC release has sparked some controversies with players disliking him for various reasons. As it was announced that "No playable male characters will be added in the upcoming chapters"[6] it can be assumed that the backlash was strong enough to discourage miHoYo(Developer) from making any other playable male characters soon, if ever again, for Honkai Impact 3rd.
- Since the game only featured female playable characters until APHO was released, it's possible that MC was stripped of some character personality traits during his development, making it easier for players to self-insert, in an attempt to pander to the playerbase who wasn't used to and/or wouldn't accept a male playable character in their "waifu game". This appears to have backfired as even players who'd accept a male character had no interest in MC due to him having very few distinguishable personality traits shown. This, however, would later be somewhat corrected in APHO 2.
