A Post-Honkai Odyssey

Last updated 2026-06-30

A Post-Honkai Odyssey (Chinese: 后崩坏书), or APHO for short, is an Open World map that can be accessed after clearing the first round of Sakura Samsara. Unlike Sakura Samsara or Schicksal HQ, there is no loading screen for entering different map sections, as the entire map is seamless.

A Post-Honkai Odyssey's story is seen from the perspective of Squad 3's member, Main Character (APHO), and takes place in St. Fountain where Welt Yang was last seen before going missing. Rescue Mr. Welt and uncover the truth behind the uncanny mechanoid creatures.

Characters

Unlike the previous Open Worlds, A Post-Honkai Odyssey is limited to 3 exclusive characters with varying abilities and playstyles. When entering the map, Captains can choose to remove or add them to the party. A minimum of 1 character is required to enter the Open World map.

  • Main Character (APHO) (Icon) Main Character (APHO) - a versatile fighter wielding the Labor of Olympus, a powerful greatsword capable of emitting Honkai energy it absorbs. While he excels at physical damage, his burst mode allows him to deal continuous fire damage which can also ignite enemies.
  • Raiden Mei (APHO) (Icon) Raiden Mei (APHO) - an agile fighter capable of dishing out rapid strikes, a greatly effective way to break through powerful force field enemies. Her attacks can deal lightning damage which can paralyze the enemies.
  • Carole Pepper (APHO) (Icon) Carole Pepper (APHO) - a powerful combatant capable of dealing heavy charged attacks. Her gauntlet's brutish strength is very effective against enemies with tough shields.

Reviving

When a character reaches 0 HP, they will collapse and be defeated. A defeated character can be revived with Suscitarin (Small) Suscitarin, or alternatively, Krystallum (Small) Krystallum ×1,000. In Ruins mode, they can only revive up to 3 times for balancing reasons.

Adventure Tasks

Adventure Tasks can be taken and cleared once every Open World reset period. Captains can take up to 5 adventure tasks at once. Each time a new task is chosen, players will be given an option between 3 different tasks to choose. If they wish, Captains can refresh these options up to 15 times for free every reset. This will cost 5 additional Crystals (Small) Crystals each time after all free attempts are depleted. After choosing their adventure tasks, Captains can go into St. Fountain and complete the tasks chosen. They will be marked and tracked on the ground via a line of arrows.

Adventure tasks can be any range of activities such as defeating enemies, securing specific kills, finding hidden treasures, completing chase mode, or collecting specific amount of Krystallum (Small) Krystallums.

  • Adventure task rounds are unlocked every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.
    • Map access must be activated when the new map is unlocked at Captain Lv.40.
    • Without map access, no enemies will respawn on the map in Exploration Mode.
  • In each round, Captains can spend Stamina (Small) Stamina to take up to 5 Task Orders, of which 2 are global and 3 are area-specific.
    • Captains can choose 1 out of the 3 randomly generated adventure tasks for each Task Order.
    • Each round of adventure task provides 15 free refresh attempts. Additional attempts will cost Crystals (Small) Crystals.
    • Captains can abandon 1 accepted adventure task per day. Captains' Stamina (Small) Stamina will be refunded
      • Global tasks can be completed anywhere on the map (e.g. collect a certain number of Krystallum (Small) Krystallum).
      • Area-specific tasks usually require Captains to defeat or track down certain enemies.
  • Complete all adventure tasks to rate task performance. Ratings are based on the adventure task challenges completed.
    • Higher ratings provide better rewards and more Adventure EXP.

Adventure Map Reset

The Adventure Map will reset at 4 a.m. every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Collection points in the wild will be reset and refreshed on Monday only, and a new round of Adventure Tasks will become available, and Captains will be given an Adventure Rating based on your performance.
If Captains have already cleared the storyline for one round, the collection points in the wild will be refreshed only after the next time the Adventure Map is reset. During the one hour before the Adventure Map is reset (03:00-04:00), Captains will not be able to enter the St. Fountain map.

Adventure Rating

Every time the Adventure Map resets, an Adventure Rating will be given to you based on all the actions you have completed including Adventure Tasks, Material Gathering, and Elite Monsters. Once Adventure has reset, the next time you enter the Open World, you will be given your Rating Rewards.

Intel Level

The story progression is determined by a Captains' Intel Level in [A Post-Honkai Odyssey]. The player's Intel Level will level up upon certain conditions such as completing Adventure Tasks, defeating monsters, etc. Each Intel provides the player with valuable rewards for their own advantages in Open World.

Map Features

Combat Gameplay Evolved

Player freedom is substantially expanded with the introduction of aerial combat! New dynamic environments and three-dimensional maps add unprecedented strategic depth to gameplay. With the three-dimensional map, Captains are able to jump as well as perform air attacks, greatly improving combat experiences.

Jump/Ultimate Jump

The new Jump allows players to jump to places that they would be unable to reach if using old combat system.

Ultimate Jump can be used to evade enemy attacks as well as healing characters. Another function of this button is to break enemy invulnerable state.

Joint Attacks

Joint Attacks is a new alternative system to QTE that involves two characters instead of just one, dealing more damage to the same enemy.

New Stats Management System

Unified Gear System

Worry too much about gear combinations? Well, this will not happens anymore in A Post-Honkai Odyssey as gears in main game does not carry to A Post-Honkai Odyssey, and there is 0 gears to manage...

Simplified Ultimate Skill Management

All characters now have maximum of 100 SP, as well as their Ultimate skill only requiring 50 or 100 depending on user selections.

Now each characters have 2 Ultimate skills instead of 1.

Deeper Skill Upgrading System

Night Kasumi doesn't interest you because she doesn't have enough skills for your needs?

Now, in A Post-Honkai Odyssey, each characters have 4 Talent Modules with total 34 skills to upgrade (versus Night Kasumi which have 24 skills), thus will satisfy most hardcore Captains out there.

Your Characters, Your Choices

Need some skill customizations? You can check out at Module customization with 3 Module categories and total 8 skills to select.

Material Gathering

The most popular feature of any Open World RPG is the ability to rob the local population/scenery blind! St. Fountain is no different with Material Gathering that allows you to collect the materials needed for upgrading your characters. Collection boxes are scattered all over the map and will reward the player with Krystallum (Small) Krystallum, Files, or Audio recording that deepens the lore of St. Fountain. Some items require a higher Intel Level to be obtained so they can be only gathered at the later phases of the open world.

Elite Monsters

Elite monsters lurk randomly around the Open World, but are easy to identify by the red mist appearing on screen should the player approach them. They are more difficult than the normal monsters that roam the Open World (and are harder to kill with a stealth assassination). When they are defeated, their spawn point will be replaced by a random enemy.

Boss Challenges

A Boss Challenge is available for players to play in the Open World. It features the three Lord-tier enemies: Code XIII - The Death, Code XX - Judgment, and Code XXI - World as bosses. Unlike the Storyline, these bosses are far more strengthened.

During gameplay, the character will be affected by Honkai Corruption in which a "Corruption Rate" gauge bar slowly increases. When the meter reaches full, the player is forced to quit the challenge, thus impeding their progress. If the player character is hit by an attack of any of the bosses, the Corruption Rate bar accumulates further, successfully evading the bosses' attacks will slightly reduce the gauge. Completing each Boss Challenge rewards the player with treasures containing various items.

  • The location used in A Post-Honkai Odyssey, St. Fountain, quite likely takes inspiration from the real-life South African city of Gansbaai; this extends to both locations being popular tourist destinations, being popular whale watching spots next to False Bay, and having a highly diverse blend of cultures.
