The Sugars are a race of aliens that appear as harmless balls of fur but wield incredible powers. They are psychic entities outside of the Earth with no physical form[1] that aim to stop the Sky People.[2]

Overview

The Sugars once had their own civilization where they fought the Honkai[1] before they were sent a Vanguard Stone by the Sky People and were attacked.[3] When they were, the Sugars chose to abandon their physical forms and uploaded their minds to the World of the Sugars (Sugar Fortress for short) in order to facilitate their exodus to another planet. The decision to abandon their physical forms bound their power into the Sugar Fortress and created a dimensional weapon far surpassing anything that the human civilization could master.[1]

Humans are not able to detect Sugars, while Herrschers can.[4] Due to the Sugar's cell repair abilities, when bonded with a human, Sugars can replace any damaged tissues or organs of their host, allowing the human to effectively "resurrect" when faced with fatal injuries.[5] According to Niggurath, the Sugars have their own language.[6]

In the year 2000, during the Second Eruption, Shub-Niggurath and Shigure Kira contributed to Sugar Molass' disappearance when Shub-Niggurath died and Sugar Molass chose Shigure Kira as their new host.[5] This caused for Sugar Molass' mission to stop the Sky People[2] to be transferred over to Pepper Mint. Pepper Mint continued their mission until 2005, when Uncle Konpeito debated retreating[7] due to hearing of the Sky People's advancements on Earth.[8]

After defeating Murata Ryusuke, Uncle Konpeito informs Welt Yang that they are officially leaving Earth and thanks him. When Welt Yang apologizes for not saving Pepper Mint and breaking their key, Uncle Konpeito tells Welt Yang that, despite the loss of their Alien Key, they are still able to travel with their "candy jar".[9]

In 2015,[note 1] Shigure Kira passed Uncle Konpeito's exam and became an official member of the Sugars.[6]

Chapter XXV-EX

Main article: Chapter XXV-EX

In 2017,[note 1] Durandal visits the Sugar's new spiritual realm called the "Candy House" and meets with Shigure Kira and Niggurath, who say they were informed of her visit beforehand to attempt to link her inner Bubble Universe with the Imaginary Tree. Shigure Kira tells Durandal that the Sugars have learned how to make use of the Imaginary Tree, being able to now transform which dimension they exist in.[6]

Locations

World of the Sugars

World of the Sugars (Sugar Fortress) is a pocket universe that the Sugars lived in. Before their previous world was destroyed, the Sugars used everything at their disposal including their latest technology and Herrscher Cores to build the World of the Sugars.[1] When a human enters the Sugar Fortress, their form will be changed to the Sugar's perception, though their minds and abilities won't be affected (Welt Yang could spawn the 9th Divine Key, the Star of Eden, in the Sugar Fortress without having its size change).[10] Any human who enters is also free to leave at any time.[11]

With the power of the Sugars, the Sugar Fortress, and the Alien Key combined, the owner forms a contiguous entity at a higher dimension.[12]

Candy House

The Candy House is the Sugar's current home. It's a sanctuary made out of a small Bubble Universe that was found by Shigure Kira and Niggurath after the two were saved by it when they were thrown into the Imaginary Tree in 2015. Due to how small the Candy House is, it can withstand Honkai fluctuations when the Sugars alter their link to the Imaginary Tree.[13]
