Wintery Wishes

The misty dream faded with the night.
Everyone who had gathered threw themselves into the fun, determined to leave no regrets, but the one who first stumbled upon the dream slowed her steps.
"Trying to give this snow-covered dream a more ceremonial ending?" her friend asked.
"I'm making a wish. I hope that in my next dream, I'll see the snowman I built again."
"Even if it's a midsummer dream?"
"Then maybe they'll turn into sweet ice cream, fluffy clouds, or statues by sandcastles. And I'll be looking forward to it. When the next season, the next dream comes, I wonder where and in what form I'll meet the wish I once made. Of course, the real reason is that I just love building snowmen! I used to spend whole days making them outside my house, all by myself. But now..."
The girl took the dozing Rice Cake scarfed around the snowman into her arms, then turned to her friend with an invitation.
"Want to join me, Mei?"
