Afranius

Afranius^[1] is a mission-exclusive NPC on Amphoreus, encountered as Ladon Representative during Trailblaze Mission Sun, Repel Stars and Pale Moon in the chapter Before Their Deaths.

Profile

In Eternal Recurrence #33,550,337, Year 3874 of the Light Calendar, Ladon fell under the control of the Okheman Alliance following their failed rebellion. In an attempt to regain independence, the Ladonians conspired with rebel cells on the outskirts of the alliance, an act noticed by Imperator Cerydra. During a council meeting in Year 3960, Afrainus argued that Cerydra's forced deployment of allied city-state troops was against the law, reminding the council that two-thirds of them had to agree to pass the motion. However, Cerydra immediately countered this by revealing the Coreflame of Law was in her possession, forcing compliance in the council. When Cerydra further revealed that the Trailblazer was the prophesised Deliverer, Afranius called the prophecy a lie for political gain. Despite his attempts to argue against the deployment of his people, Cerydra adjourned the meeting.

Hours later, Afranius was executed by Hysilens on Cerydra's orders, with the Cleaners handling the assassination of his servants and the detainment of his family. He was found by a fellow Ladonian, who called for help to no avail.^[2] Cerydra further ordered his corpse to be hung from the Marmoreal Palace until it disintegrated, but it is unclear if this actually came to pass.^[1]
