Ladon
Last updated 2026-09-01
Ladon was a mentioned city-state in Amphoreus.
Overview
Ladon was a tribal city-state within Amphoreus implied to have worshipped Aquila, the Titan of Sky.[2][3] Sitting near the Campa Mountains, their fields were the home of the crystalline berry known as "Ladon's Rain,"[4] as well as a mountain peak that could "touch the clouds."[5] The city was protected by a group of rangers skilled with archery, using poison-tipped arrows and traps to defend their home. They held an ancient animosity with the city-state of Campa, which Imperator Cerydra leveraged to conquer them both.[6]

Ladon was also among the several city-states that were conquered by Cerydra's forces in the First-Flame Chase Journey.[7][8]
Centuries after Cerydra's death, Ladon was invaded by Mydei's Kremnoan Detachment during the group's campaign from Ladon to Aenionus via Aidonia.[9] During the invasion, Ladon was successfully in killing Mydei's friend and comrade Perdikkas with a poison arrow.[10]
At an unknown point before its fall, Janus' Steed established contact with Ladon while trying to reach Castrum Kremnos.[3]

In Year 3874, Ladon temporarily allied with Okhema to defeat the rebellion in Campa, before attempting to rebel itself. Their rebellion was crushed immediately by "Dux Brumalis" Seneca on Cerydra's orders, with the city-state unwillingly joining the Okheman Alliance.[6] In Year 3960, Ladon begun conspiring with rebellions in the outskirts of the Alliance, who wished to return to Era Chrysea. Because of this, the Ladon representative Afranius was executed by Hysilens for the crime of high treason, whilst the Cleaners killed his servants and brought his family into Okheman serfdom.[11] Afranius' body was also ordered to be hung from the Marmoreal Palace until it disintegrated to dust, but it is unclear if this actually occured.[12]
Sometime before Year 4160, Ladon fell under the control of Theoros Lycurgus, who led their forces in two sieges against Okhema. The siege in Year 4210 was able to claim ninety-thousand lives, including that of the Alliance leader, Aglaea.[13] Ladon's fate after this point is unknown.
