- "How come you're cooped up on the Xianzhou?"

Dialogue
- (First interaction)
- Edelia: *sigh* My travel expenses can be reimbursed. It's the expenses that can't be reimbursed that annoy me. Am I going to have to moonlight even when I have a proper job...?
- Edelia: Heh, are you stranded on Xianzhou just like me?
Indeed.
- Edelia: I knew it! I have something to ask you...
I am a true Xianzhou native, born and raised!
- Edelia: You've got "Outworlder" written all over your face. Jokes aside, I have something to ask you...
- Edelia: Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Edelia. I came to Xianzhou as a commercial legal adviser on a business trip, and am stranded here for a while.
- Edelia: I wanna ask if there is a way for Outworlders to make a living here? Rather, how do you usually earn money?
I have someone on Xianzhou...
- Edelia: Someone? You mean to say you have a friend on Xianzhou who can transfer money to you?
- Edelia: Wonderful! I always hear the Xianzhou natives say "even across the heavens, the like—minded cross paths."
I mainly work as a grunt...
- Edelia: I see. You are an individual of labor too... But it's hard to find even the most menial of jobs now.
I actually have more wealth than you can imagine.
- Edelia: Oh, is that so? I should've known better than to ask you...
- Edelia: I was dispatched to Xianzhou because of work, but have been unable to leave since the Jade Gate's closure... That's the main reason for my situation.
- Edelia: But I've changed my mind after hearing certain information, and am not in a hurry to leave now... A secret that everyone is interested in is hiding in Xianzhou. Surely you know this, even as an Outworlder?
Immortality?
- Edelia: Shh! This isn't something that should be casually discussed in front of an inn.
I don't get your drift. Please elaborate.
- Edelia: *sigh* You sure know how to play dumb. Then again... it's not something to be discussed openly here.
- Edelia: Outworlders who covet immortality will be... peacefully deported by the Sky-Faring Commission. Hardened offenders will face prison time.
- Edelia: Here, this is for you. To keep your mouth shut. Don't breathe a word of this to anyone.
- Edelia: I'll have to find something to do later to stay longer on Xianzhou. Do you have anything else to ask?

- (Subsequent interactions)
- Edelia: I've heard from the Petrichor Inn owner that this shop used to be called the "Cloud-Striding Hotel for Travelers Near and Far," and it eventually went out of business because its name was such a mouthful.
- Edelia: The Xianzhou natives love attributing past events to trivial matters to show that "everything is in the details," but I reserve my judgment for that.
- Edelia: I've heard plenty of gossip, but nothing about the secret to immortality... Why are you talking about these? Do you have business with me?
Just a casual chat.
- Edelia: Sure, a casual chat it is then. It's not like I've got anywhere else to be.
Did you get any information on immortality?
- Edelia: ...You sure do ask hard-hitting questions. Xianzhou has rules — we should not be talking about this in public.
- Edelia: Then again, this isn't some clandestine secret. Do you realize how much of an eyecatcher the Ambrosial Arbor is? Anyone can find high ground on the Xianzhou Luofu and see it clear as day.
- Edelia: Even if everyone's trap is sealed shut, that giant Ambrosial Arbor won't stay silent. It will soon tell us what the secret is. The Jade Gate's closure is the first clue.
What do you do to make money now?
- Edelia: Once the boss of Petrichor Inn knew of my plight, they promised to introduce some jobs to me.
- Edelia: An Outworlder business owner had me write fake comments for short videos as a part-time gig. It was simple and entry-level, so I gave it a shot.
- Edelia: Under each video, I wrote, "Children love this, great for sensitive skin too." I did that for LOTS of videos.
- Edelia: In the end, that business owner was taken away by the Realm-Keeping Commission, and I didn't get paid. All that work down the drain.
What plans do you have next?
- Edelia: Next? No different from now, I guess. Doing menial jobs, and just waiting. I feel that the puzzle to immortality is like trying to contain fire with paper — it can't be kept under wraps forever...
- Edelia: Perhaps I'll get the chance to become long-life species. I can still make that decision when that time comes... then again, the Xianzhou might not necessarily let me leave then.
Why do you want to become immortal?
- Edelia: You say it like you were not interested in immortality at all.
I don't think I'll ever get that chance.
- Edelia: I'm not that obsessed with the notion. If it's really not possible, I'll just leave.
- Edelia: I have witnessed the vastness of the cosmos. One lifetime is too short to satisfy my curiosity.
- Edelia: If I had infinite life, I would travel through the entirety of the universe. You get that, don't you?
I have nothing else to ask.
- Edelia: All right, be careful on your travels. If you find any work I can do, please let me know. If you hear anything about the secret to immortality... you know, don't hog it all.
