Dialogue
- (First interaction)
- You remember you've been to this... archive room before.
- Back then, this big blackboard, or perhaps whiteboard, really caught your eye... just like it does now.
- ???: Ribbit!
You scared me!
- ???: Apologies. That was just a friendly warning.
Ribbit-ribbit-ribbit!
- ???: Why are you singing now? I'm warning you, ribbit!
- Froggy Whiteboard: I am the cursed Detective "Froggy Whiteboard". Stay back, friend. Come any closer, and misfortune will befall you.
- Froggy Whiteboard: You may have met Detective Croc elsewhere in Duomension City. We once worked together, but they were nothing but a puffed-up charlatan. But I... I have seen murder and tears. I'm a real detective, ribbit.
There are way too many Duomension detectives in Duomension City!
- Froggy Whiteboard: What, you don't like us cartoon characters? But I've got a 3D model! That guy's the true flat one!
So why are you holing up in the archive room?
- Froggy Whiteboard: Heh, sharp eye. Indeed, I chose to be confined here, a seal crafted by my own will.
- Froggy Whiteboard: I might look like a child, but my mind is far beyond ordinary. I've cracked countless cases... and that's the problem.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Wherever I go, a murder always follows... without fail!
Just like a walking Reaper!
- Froggy Whiteboard: Ah, such is the price of being a great detective.
Can you really leave this place, though?
- Froggy Whiteboard: It's none of your business! None of your business! None of your business!
No wonder you got cursed.
- Froggy Whiteboard: So take my advice: stay away from me. I'm done solving any more cases. Just let me sit here in peace, please.
- (Trailblazer): I'm curious, does that "wherever-you-go-a-murder-happens" curse of yours still apply in this archive room?
- Froggy Whiteboard: ...
- Froggy Whiteboard: ...You make a fair point.
A fair point!? I'm getting out of here!
- Froggy Whiteboard: Wait, calm down...
It even works here? What are you, a walking death machine?
- Froggy Whiteboard: I wouldn't say I'm that supernatural... Sorry, actually I am exactly that supernatural.
- Froggy Whiteboard: But no need to panic. Look, it's just the two of us in this room, and I'm the detective. You know, detectives don't kill!
- Froggy Whiteboard: So unless a third person walks through that door, there's absolutely no way a murder will happen.
- (Trailblazer): ...Fair enough.
- Archive Room Door: *knock knock knock* *knock knock knock knock knock knock*
- Froggy Whiteboard: Oh no!
- Archive Room Door: Da-da-dum!
Close the door!
- Froggy Whiteboard: I can't move. Go close the door!
Help! Aaaaaah!!
- Froggy Whiteboard: Run! The killer's coming in!
- Froggy Whiteboard & (Trailblazer): Ahhhh!
- Archive Room Door: Ta-da! Actually, I just caught a cold, so don't freak out.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Just ignore it, that thing's got issues... Anyway, what were you here to talk about again?
- (Continue to dialogue options below)
- (Subsequent interactions)
- Froggy Whiteboard: Wherever I go, a murder always follows... without fail!
- Froggy Whiteboard: So take my advice: stay away from me. I'm done solving any more cases. Just let me sit here in peace, please.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Oh... Sorry, it's you, (Trailblazer). In that case, no need to keep your distance. Want to chat?
Let's have a game of Cosmicon Collective!
- (Open menu)
I'd like to know more about you and this archive room...
- Froggy Whiteboard: This is Graphia Academy's archive room, a place of many secrets. Sorry, but a secret's only a secret when only a few people know about it.
I get it, I get it. Rules are rules, you can't spill the secret.
What do you mean? I don't know anything! Don't freak me out.- Froggy Whiteboard: You've got it wrong. What I mean by 'only a few people know' is...
- Froggy Whiteboard: Even I had no idea.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Don't ask me why there are people disguised as janitors going in and out of the archive room, muttering specific containment numbers, executing complicated handover procedures, and usually never even showing up again...
- Froggy Whiteboard: Don't ask me why bloodstains occasionally show up in the archive room only to be deliberately wiped away when nobody's watching, or why all the janitors pretend they don't know me...
- Froggy Whiteboard: Don't ask me...
I'm done asking.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Don't ask me... Oh, you're done with the interrogation? Fine. Just forget this whole conversation ever happened.
Is this still the archive room?
- Froggy Whiteboard: Don't even ask me if this is still the archive room, okay?
- Froggy Whiteboard: Let's keep that secret between us.
Want to learn more about the Froggy Whiteboard...
- Froggy Whiteboard: Me? Well, as you can see, I used to be a great detective, but now I'm just a *cursed detective*.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Someone once said, "It's the strange cases that make a detective." I used to take pride in every bizarre case I encountered. If I solved them, fame would naturally follow, right?
- Froggy Whiteboard: But as the cases kept piling up, I couldn't help but wonder: were they all somehow connected to me? Whether by coincidence or by design.
- Froggy Whiteboard: A detective is supposed to bring people peace of mind.
- Froggy Whiteboard: So I sealed myself away. I'd rather stay trapped than see anyone else get hurt because of me.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Don't worry. Though I have sealed myself away, my skills in deduction and reasoning are still sharp. If you ever need help, you can always come find me.
So what's this whiteboard even for?
- Froggy Whiteboard: You know what a clue board is? It's a visual tool that helps with thinking.
- Froggy Whiteboard: When concentrating on a case, a great detective uses various methods to uncover hidden connections between seemingly unrelated things. This can crack a case wide open.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Check it out! I just happen to have some completely unrelated pictures right here. When they're arranged in no particular order like this, what associations come to mind?
I can't think of anything.
- Froggy Whiteboard: ...
- Froggy Whiteboard: That's it!
- Froggy Whiteboard: I didn't make any connections either. They really have nothing to do with each other!
I've got the culprit figured out...
- Froggy Whiteboard: ...
- Froggy Whiteboard: So the culprit is...
- Froggy Whiteboard: Ah... what I mean is your deduction skills are so sharp, I can't help but want to take a look at your answers.
- Froggy Whiteboard: But asking other detectives directly about their case results is just too embarrassing. I won't be doing that again.
- Froggy Whiteboard: Anyway, you get the picture — before I retired, I had some seriously important responsibilities on my shoulders.
Sorry, but we should keep our distance for now!
- Froggy Whiteboard: No worries. We'll talk again next time.
