Dialogue
- Day 1
- Day 2
- (Attempt to destroy the vase)
- You've smashed countless innocent vases like this before, but this one is marked differently. Instead of shattering to pieces as expected, it somehow stays in place, motionless.
- ???: Hey, what are you doing!
- A sudden strange cry emanates from the vase. You've been a Nameless for a while and consider yourself experienced in many things, but this is still a shock.
A talking vase?
- ???: Have you seen a talking vase before? Sober up.
(Whack it again.)
- ???: Hey hey hey, take it easy. My brains are about to explode.
- ???: I'm the Immortal in a Vase, and I've lived in this vase in seclusion for thousands of years. And if it weren't for a klutz like you today, I'd probably have chilled out another few millennia more.
Sorry...
- Immortal in a Vase: No matter. No matter. Living in a snail's shell is pleasant enough, but I still perceive boredom once in a long while. Your disturbance is not unwelcomed, it seems.
(Whack it again.)
- Immortal in a Vase: Stop it! Are you addicted to doing that? Kids these days — you're a vicious beast with a thunderous temper.
- Immortal in a Vase: This vase may be an ordinary object, but with the blessings of my power, a pipsqueak like you won't be able to shake it up at all.
Why do you live inside a vase?
- Immortal in a Vase: Why don't YOU live in a vase? The mortal world is cruel and evil, and only within this vase can I enjoy my peace. The universe is an infinite bird cage, and this snail's shell is as liberating as an entire world.
How did you get in there?
- Immortal in a Vase: What's so strange about this? If my mind is tranquil and serene, then my flesh would become truly liberated. A soul flooded with mundane concerns can never enter the world of celestials, no matter how much the individual can shapeshift.
- Immortal in a Vase: In fact, with the amount of power I have, most people wouldn't notice this vase. Yet you did. If you're not an extraordinary person already, then you're destined for greatness somewhere.
- Immortal in a Vase: Why don't you give me a hand? Consider that as an apology for disturbing me.
Sounds like a hassle. No thanks.
- Immortal in a Vase: Hahahha, very well! Be free! Be free! How about I tell you what's going on, and you simply listen? After that, it's up to you whether you want to help. I would not force you.
Alright, sounds interesting.
- Immortal in a Vase: Hahaha, very well! How considerate! Well then, please help me out. It's nothing difficult and there's no rush. Just do it when you have the time.
Is there any advantage to helping you out?
- Immortal in a Vase: Hahaha, very well! Unfettered by repute or fame, focused solely on worldly wealth! Don't worry. I may have been out of this world for a few thousand years, but I can still afford a small sum as thanks.
- Immortal in a Vase: Please find me five bags of trash. Within this vase lies a spotless vacuum, and I've always felt it lacks the hustle and bustle of mortal life. Once you find the trash, simply toss them into my vase.
- (Investigate vase again)
Try to communicate- The vase stands there, as much a mundane object as the Immortal in a Vase claims. You've broken countless vases like this before.
- But it's definitely different from all those other vases, even if you can't tell what that difference is. Its presence is overwhelming, but is somehow ignored by passers-by.
(Put the items inside.)
- (Submit

Trash ×5) - You gaze down at the trash in your hands, then back at this relatively small vase. Can you really stuff this much trash into this vase?
- But it's not something for you to ponder over. After all, pedestrians in the Exalting Sanctum also can't imagine you running all over the place with bags of trash.
- You stuff one bag into the vase. It should drop down to the bottom, but you don't hear any sound. Then, you shove in the remaining trash. They disappear without a sound.
- Immortal in a Vase: This is... The hustle and bustle of the mortal realm... I didn't expect you to actually bring it.
- Immortal in a Vase: Mmm... very well. That's exactly what l wanted! Here's a gift for you. The gates to the celestial realm are open. Come and get it.
(Put your hand in.)
You won't bite me, right?
- The Immortal in a Vase remains silent. The silence might be a prank, or it could simply be a predatory trap.
- You dip your left hand in as a precaution, keeping your dominant hand free to use a weapon, a toothbrush, or a fork in the future.
- You touch the bottom of the vase. The rubbish you dropped in is nowhere to be found, and there's nothing that might be the Immortal in a Vase. Then, you do feel something — it's the Immortal's "gift."
- You pull out your hand. The vase stands before you in silence.

(Put your hand into the vase.)
- You try putting your hand into the vase, but can't seem to do it. You don't feel any obstacles, but the force resisting you is definitely real.
- Right at that moment, a voice rushes straight into your brain through the bones in your arm: "Provide a gift, and the path to visiting the celestial will open."
(Maybe later.)
- (Investigate vase)
Try to communicate- Immortal in a Vase: An eternity in the celestial realm, a millennium gone in a flash. Young (man/
lady), you've come back. You brought me some of the hustle and bustle of humanity last time. Thanks to you, my vase has everything now. - Immortal in a Vase: You really should come in and see the world inside this vase. I call it my Cage of Freedom. Go on. Are you coming in for a look or not?
What? There's no way the Trailblazer can fit in here!
- Immortal in a Vase: Hahaha, really? That's because you still have mortal worries inside of you. Embrace the formless and shrug off thy mortal shell, then change into a thousand forms as thy mind desires.
(Reach in with your hand.)
- Last time, you easily reached into the vase and took out the Immortal's gift. But this time, your hand gets caught on the vase. That's normal — how could a human hand hope to fit into such a small vase?
- Immortal in a Vase: Can't fit? Haha... That's because you still have mortal worries inside of you. Embrace the formless and shrug off thy mortal shell, then change into a thousand forms as thy mind desires.
(Stick your head in.)
- The Immortal has miraculous powers, and it may be able to include you in the vase. But somehow, your head gets caught on the mouth of the vase. That's normal — how could a human head hope to fit in such a small vase?
- Immortal in a Vase: Can't fit? Haha... That's because you still have mortal worries inside of you. Embrace the formless and shrug off thy mortal shell, then change into a thousand forms as thy mind desires.
- Immortal in a Vase: In this case... I actually have a request. There're some things on you that's preventing you from shrugging off your mortal shell, but are in fact quite useful to me.
- Immortal in a Vase: It's because of those things that you have to busy yourself in the mortal realm. You could've put your own satisfaction first, instead of wasting this short life of yours on your companions.
- Immortal in a Vase: But it's just what I need in this world inside my vase. That "hustle and bustle of humankind" is growing rampantly, filling every spot in this vase — but it doesn't recognize who is the real owner of this Cage of Freedom.
- Immortal in a Vase: I want you to hand those things over to me. Help me, and perhaps you'll be helping yourself.
I don't understand. What do you mean?
You sound like the Riddlers...- Immortal in a Vase: It can shed the skin of beasts, teach aquatic bugs to live on land, and disappear without being seen. This strange thing cannot be provoked.
- Immortal in a Vase: It doesn't matter if you don't understand. Just stand there, and don't move. I'll get it myself.
(Stand still.)

Don't come over here. You can't have it.
- Immortal in a Vase: Hahaha, don't be scared. I won't take anything you don't want to give.
- Immortal in a Vase: Have another think about it. Unlike you, I have all the time in the world to spare.
- The Immortal falls silent.
- (Dialogue after refusing to submit the item on day 2)
- Immortal in a Vase: How about it, then? Have you changed your mind? Do you want to give it to me?
Come and get it.
- (Submit

Praise of High Morals ×1) - Immortal in a Vase: Okay, please stand still, and don't move.
- You stand still and stare at the vase as it expands before your very eyes, as if trying to engulf you. Or perhaps, it does indeed engulf you.
- Immortal in a Vase: Very well. This is exactly what I need. Hold on a second. You've really helped me out, and I want to make sure I thank you properly.
- The Immortal falls silent.

Absolutely not.
- Immortal in a Vase: Such character! Unfortunately, those tough bones of yours could well run into trouble... Never mind. Never mind.
- Immortal in a Vase: Please wait a moment. I've put you through a lot of trouble, so I should give you something to make up for it.
- The Immortal falls silent.
Let me reconsider...
- (Dialogue after having submitted the item on day 2)
- Immortal in a Vase: The thank-you gift is ready. The gate to the celestial realm is open. Come and get it yourself.
(Reach in with your hand.)
Promise you're really not gonna bite me...?
- Immortal in a Vase: Hahaha. Even if I want to, I don't have teeth!
- Your hand reaches into the vase without any obstruction. You grope around the bottom, trying to find this "thank-you gift."
- Soon, you find it.
- This "thank-you gift" has a soft, sleek surface. It radiates warmth, which rises and falls rhythmically against your fingertips. Sensing your existence, it slowly turns over and hugs your fingers.
- Countless hard and sharp objects gently crawl up your fingers. It doesn't hurt because it's being very careful not to hurt you. It grips tighter and tighter, until your knuckles soon feel a slight, cool breath.
- You pull your hand straight out.
What the heck was that!?
This thank-you gift is too precious for me to hold on to...
(Stare in suspicion at the Immortal in a Vase.)- Immortal in a Vase: Huh? Don't you like it? But you gave this to me yourself.
This is not what I brought!
All I brought you was some trash...- Immortal in a Vase: Eh? Oh... I forgot your lack of understanding about "life." My bad. Nature sculpts us all on it's potter's wheel, and the land creates the masses. That's all.
- Immortal in a Vase: If you don't like it, I have some other thank-you gifts. Come and pick one yourself.
(Reach in with your hand.)
- Reaching your hand to the bottom of the vase, you soon find another "thank-you gift." It doesn't move, which is a good start.
- The Immortal in a Vase stops talking.
- You look at the crude and ordinary vase before you. Everything that happened just now feels like a fevered dream. And perhaps it was?
- (Obtained

Eye of Lightning ×5) - (Achievement Unlocked Far From the Madding Crowd)
I'm not sticking my hand in there again.
- Immortal in a Vase: Really? That's a pity.
- The Immortal in a Vase stops talking.
- You look at the crude and ordinary vase before you. Everything that happened just now feels like a fevered dream. And perhaps it was?
- (Achievement Unlocked Let the Wind Blow Where It May)
- (Destroy the vase)
- You've smashed countless ordinary vases like this before, and this one's no different.
- The vase shatters as if nothing had ever happened. No... nothing did happen.
- Nothing happened here. Nothing had better happened here. Nothing should have happened here.
- Nothing happened here. That's it. It's best like this.
