Jinyu

Jinyu (Chinese: 锦余) is a Vidyadhara NPC aboard the Xianzhou Luofu. She can be found in Central Starskiff Haven, near the Earthrise Agora Space Anchor.

Profile

Jinyu has been suffering from an extremely rare rebirth abnormality, which causes her to undergo cycle of hatching rebirth every few months. Her growth is a hundred times faster than a normal Vidyadhara.^[1] As a result, she has been constantly losing her memories.

Jinyu: Phew... This may be out of the blue, but I'm actually evading the pursuit of my countless ex-lovers. I thought you were one of them, but apparently not.

You have had countless lovers? Such a player!

Jinyu: You are mistaken, my heart can only belong to one. When I like someone, its hard to like another.

Jinyu: But these lovers are from my past reincarnations. I don't know them, but they know me.

And how do you know I'm not one of them?

Jinyu: If you were, you'd surely know what illness has stricken me. But with that sweet, innocent face of yours, I'm certain you have no clue.

Jinyu: If you know what rare illness I have, you would understand very quickly.

Jinyu: We Vidyadhara usually stay young by molting after living for centuries. Any damage done to the body will be repaired during the molting process, but our memories are completely wiped.

Jinyu: As for me and my condition, well, my body compacts this five or six-century process into just one month. After one month, I'd have forgotten about our meeting here and now — and this love story, too.

Jinyu: How about it? Do you understand after hearing me out? I haven't found a lover in this life, and perhaps we're just right for each other.

Jinyu: I can't remember a thing about what I was like before I lost my memory, but those who know me say I remain the same way no matter how many times I molt. Besides, if you only had memories for thirty days, you'd be as spontaneous with love as me.

Jinyu: ...It seems that since I was so passionate about romance in my previous lives, I am always meeting people who claim to love me "forever." I'm truly sorry, but I just can't remember who they were.

Jinyu: The person I was in the past never kept any diary, and present-day me doesn't really want to leave anything for the future. Even if my debt of love is impossible to explain, I still don't really care for it.

Jinyu: I'm definitely sincere and passionate about every relationship. That's enough for me. If destiny is a thing, then let's fall in love once more — my arms are always open.
