Dialogue

Golden Hour

(First interaction)
Louis: Do you like stories with a sad ending or happy ending, my friend?
Louis: I personally prefer the former. When beauty is carefully shattered, the sublime devastation always leaves people's souls trembling.
Louis: Of course, I'm also a fan of well-made comedies. However, I always feel like... I'm currently a pathetic clown in some poorly-written script.
Louis: It's hard to describe the feeling. Disappointment, misery, anger... Too many emotions are mixed together, just like syrup of different flavors being randomly poured into a cauldron...
Louis: Oh, by the way, what can I do for you?
Icon Dialogue Arrow What are you doing here?
Louis: If only the two holes above your nose are... Ahem, sorry, I do this for a living and I just can't help it... I mean, I'm enjoying the scenery, as you can see.
Louis: Taking in the view of the Penacony Grand Theater from here barely counts as a decent way to spend my free time. If you want to join, I don't mind saving you a spot.

(If Louis's emotion is set to Calm)
The young man is stuck in a trance for a brief moment. Then, he blinks and suddenly smiles at you.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave
Louis: The meandering lights grow faint, the shadows slumber beneath the curtain...

(If Louis's emotion is set to Angry)
Louis takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly.
Icon Dialogue Talk You want to chat?
Louis: Sure. What do you want to talk about?
Icon Dialogue Talk You seem pretty calm?
Louis: Do I? I should be glad, as those useless manners and etiquette entrenched in me are playing their parts. Honestly speaking, I'm having a bad mood.
Louis: I feel cheated and humiliated... I'm ashamed of my ignorance and recklessness.
Louis: I traveled across dozens of galaxies in search of a great and pure soul, but...
Louis: Hmph, the notion of noble and flawless art is nothing but a deception... Pedantry and frivolity still rule the world.
Icon Dialogue Talk What do you do for a living?
Louis: Me? I'm just a small-time critic whose reputation doesn't reflect my taste. If you're interested, you can check out my personal website.
Louis: I never filter the comments. You'll be able to see compliments, criticisms, criticisms for those who compliment me, criticisms for those who criticize me, trolls who instigate drama for fun, and bystanders...
Louis: If I ever decide to become a novelist one day, I'll have enough material to write several books just by adapting those comments!
Icon Dialogue Exit Let's end it here for now.
Louis: No problem.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave
Louis: The meandering lights grow faint, the shadows slumber beneath the curtain...

(If Louis's emotion is set to Happy)
The scattered lights from afar are reflected in the young man's eyes, resembling the shimmering moonlight on the surface of the lake.
Icon Dialogue Exit Leave
Louis: The meandering lights grow faint, the shadows slumber beneath the curtain...

(If Louis's emotion is set to Sad)
The man in front of you is clearly feeling depressed.

Clockwork

Icon Dialogue Clockwork Activate Clockwork
Icon Clockwork Calm Calm
Louis: How amazing... For some reason, I feel a sense of tranquility when I look at you...
Louis: You know, I've been particularly sensitive since I was little. Although I've been trying hard to think rationally, my emotional side always gets the better of me at critical moments.
Louis: I've tried many methods, such as this bottle I'm holding — this Dream Syrup, Penacony's specialty. One small bottle can keep my mind calm for an entire day. It has no side effects and isn't addictive.
Louis: And yet, what it provides is nothing compared to the feelings of calmness and security that you are making me feel right now... Alas, if only I could kidnap you and keep you next to me at all times.
Louis: ...Don't take it so seriously, I'm just kidding. In all seriousness, would you mind coming by often to chat with me when you're free?
(First time only)
Louis: By the way, I'm not going to use this thing any time soon, so you can have it. Remember to drop by when you're free!

Icon Clockwork Angry Angry
Louis: ...I'm such a fool.
Louis: I thought I was on a pilgrimage, but this has turned out to be an absurd comedy, in which I'm the biggest clown!
Louis: Indeed, I'm too young and naive, and I put my trust in the wrong person. I traveled thousands of miles to Penacony for her, but she...
Louis: You know what? When I looked at her through the paintings, I saw the stars and the shores, dreams and freedom, eternity and infinity.
Louis: But when I see her in person... I feel as though the stars have stopped shining, and the ocean has dried up. Every minute I spend with her feels so long and torturous...
Louis: More than twenty years of manners and etiquette and I was barely able to finish drinking a cup of tea in her presence...
Louis: How ironic! I had pinned my hopes on finding an independent and wise soul, but what do I get in the end?
Louis: A slave confined by her talents! A bald quill without its own wits!
Icon Clockwork Happy Happy
Louis: Before coming to Penacony, I'd never thought I would fall in love with this place.
Louis: Once upon a time, the name "Planet of Festivities" struck me as pompous, frivolous, and superficial...
Louis: ...I always regarded classic art as a fine wine that became richer and more flavorful the longer it was fermented. Meanwhile, Penacony was a place filled with bubbly artificial syrup, lacking in the depth of history.
Louis: It wasn't until I stepped foot in this city of dreams did I realize how narrow-minded I used to be. Look! This city itself it a perfect piece of art!
Louis: The Family took charge of the untamed Dreamscape and created a masterpiece out of this anarchic space. Wasn't this a manifestation of great creativity?
Louis: After coming here, I've learned one thing — it's not the city that's shallow, but those guests who know nothing about art and are brainwashed by toxic consumerism...
Louis: I'd love to stay here for an Amber Era if I could. Alas, how am I supposed to convince my siblings to let me do it?
Icon Clockwork Sad Sad
Louis: Have you heard of psychological topography?
Louis: Well, I'm not surprised if you haven't. It's not some famous theory. Just a... useless technique popular among critics.
Louis: In essence, psychological topography is about interpreting the writer's personality through their works. Rather than directly associating the values shown in the works to the writer, we will analyze the subtle details that come from their subconscious...
Louis: I used to apply this method to evaluate artists, mocking those I deem foolish and criticizing those I think are too stubborn...
Louis: In hindsight, I can see that I'm the only one who's stubborn and foolish. The so-called psychological topography is just an unorthodox method without any theoretical basis...
Louis: They're probably right — I should rediscover my reverence for art. It's pointless to force an association between an artist's personality and their works...

Radiant Feldspar

(Listen to the conversation)
Claudia: ...See, I told you Big Bro is gonna come down personally.
Louis: What's he here for? To get a laugh outta me? A-anyway, it doesn't matter if he's here. I'm not going back...
Louis: Speaking of which... Have you finished with your detective work on those "urban legends"?
Claudia: ...Spit it out. What wonky ideas do you have this time?
Louis: Hee-hee, I knew you were with me!
