The Sleepless Earl was initially opened by Mengming's parents, and the teahouse has been on business on Starwatcher Avenue for over 400 years. While her parents were traveling together, she was entrusted with taking over the family business, with her dad wanting to test her abilities.

She serves items in exchange for Credits.

Mengming: Welcome to Sleepless Earl! How many of you are there? Which tea would you like today? My name's Mengming, and this is my teahouse. Let me know if there's anything I can do.

Mengming: There's a gentle breeze today, so it's a good time to try our fresh Hunter Maofeng which is in season. We never neglect this tea in our shop, making sure we pick fresh leaves every morning for the afternoon's brew, and afternoon leaves for the evening... ensuring you only drink the freshest.

Mengming: But in this teahouse, we like to ask the customer's preference. Do you like your tea thick and strong, or mild?

I like it strong.

Mengming: Ah, then may I suggest the Xianzhou Black Tea? The strength of the tea depends on personal tastes and sensations, but we refuse to serve tea that's too strong and bitter.

Mengming: Drinking tea is for pleasure and not a torment. Since you like it rather strong, then this Xianzhou Black Tea with its red color and slightly astringent taste should suit you perfectly.

I like it mild.

Mengming: Then I recommend you try our Vegetations in the Alchemy Cauldron variety. Brew it quickly in a covered cup with boiling water and you'll soon enjoy some tea that's neither thick nor bitter. The flavor is just right.

Mengming: As the saying goes, the freshwater hibiscus is Nature's perfect sculpture. A good mild tea is not bland and tasteless, but mild and not thin. Try a couple of pots and you'll know what I mean.

What are the rules in tea appreciation?

Mengming: It would take forever to explain all the rules. I'll just talk about tea selection and water retention for now.

Mengming: Speaking of tea selection, take our Hunter Maofeng tea as an example. The Sleepless Earl only picks the most precious buds, usually long, pointed, and covered in fine hairs.

Mengming: As for water retention, tea merchants always say that mineral water is the best — but the clear and ancient water in Scalegorge Waterscape is the best. There's no better water for tea and alchemy than this.

Mengming: I'm also only learning and invite you to call me out if anything I've said is wrong.

What made you want to open up a teahouse here?

Mengming: My parents opened this teahouse, not me. The Sleepless Earl has been on Starwatcher Avenue for over four hundred years!

Mengming: Dad wanted to be near to the port, with all the tired and thirsty people nearby. It was always sure to be a booming business, and we owe all our successes to the kindness of our customers.

Mengming: Totally. Before the Ambrosial Arbor's growth happened, I had been thinking about my parents, who always told me to turn a crisis into an opportunity. Since the Ambrosial Arbor's new growth was a crisis, I thought I would be able to turn it into an opportunity.

Mengming: If I succeeded, it could be a great boost to my tea house's business. So I went to Mr. Xiyan to discuss it.
