Sugilite is an employee of the Strategic Investment Department in the Interastral Peace Corporation, and a member of the Ten Stonehearts.

He makes his first appearance during Myriad Celestia Trailer: Stoneheart's Oath Ring: Both Ends of the Scale alongside his fellow Stonehearts.

History

When seven out of Ten Stonehearts gathered to decide Aventurine's punishment for breaking the Aventurine Cornerstone in Penacony, Sugilite was in favor of removing him from the Ten Stonehearts, with the added plaint that his actions were mainly for his own benefit, to the chagrin of Topaz, who viewed the claim to be overtly assumptive and ignored the facts of the matter.^[3]

Etymology

• Sugilite is a relatively rare pink to purple ore with the complex chemical formula KNa₂(Fe,Mn,Al)₂Li₃Si₁₂O₃₀. It was first described by the Japanese petrologist Sugi Kenichi (Japanese: 杉すぎ 健一けんいち) in 1944, and later officially named after his surname (known as 杉石すぎせき in Japanese).
• 舒俱 Shūjù derives from 舒俱来 Shūjùlái, the transcription of Sugilite.
