Profile
Big Pan was a Giant Panda Thiren who, despite his incredible sword skills, disliked actual combat.
History
Big Pan served as a member of the Melt Iron Mercenaries. During the time of Eridu's founding, various mercenary groups were tasked with aiding in efforts to claim territory for the city to expand, which the Melt Iron mercs helped with. Big Pan was already an incredible swordmaster by this time, but this only caused him concern, as the ease by which he could dispatch his enemies, and the thrill it brought to him, led him to worry that he might become a monster. He often panicked in the face of combat, unwilling to engage enemies. This attitude led to the other mercs believing him to be a coward, and at one stage he threw away his sword and ran during a conflict with bandits. Ultimately however, he was able to use this fear to hone himself, as it was the very thing that helped him from becoming that monster he despised, and returned to protect his fellow mercs. One of the bandits had corrupted in to an Avarus, and he decapitated it, earning him incredible fame.
However, Big Pan's strength was seen as a possible danger future. Believing such power was unneeded during the coming "era of peace", and also not wanting to have him as an enemy later, "higher-ups" from Eridu convinced the Melt Iron Mercenaries to abandon him in a Hollow, where he ultimately died.
At some point in time, the memory of his life was preserved within the Qingming Sword, and it was experienced by the blade's newest wielder, Ye Shunguang, as well as Phaethon, after they entered the Qingming Realm. During this time, the pair saw Big Pan in the form of Pan Yinhu, as the sword was recreating the events based on Shunguang's own perceptions.
