A Stunning Stratagem is a Special Dish that the player has a chance to obtain by cooking Bird Egg Sushi with Sangonomiya Kokomi. The recipe for Bird Egg Sushi is obtainable from Shimura Kanbei at Shimura's for 
Mora ×1,250.
A Stunning Stratagem restores 16% of Max HP and an additional 1,350 HP to the target character. Like most foods, this cannot target other players' characters in Co-Op Mode.

- While Bird's Egg Sushi is made nigiri style, A Stunning Stratagem is made chakin style. Chakin-zushi (Japanese: 茶巾寿司), or sushi wrapped in a very thin egg sheet, allegedly gained its name because it is reminiscent of a teabowl wrapped by a chakin.[1]
- The Chinese version uses the term "brocade bag" (Chinese: 锦囊 jǐnnáng) for "package" in the English description text. It is probably a pun on the Chinese idiom "[in a] brocade bag, [there is a] marvelous plan" (Chinese: 锦囊妙计 jǐnnáng miàojì), meaning a "cunning contingency plan prepared in advance," which originates from the Chinese historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.[2]
- In the novel, this plan was devised by the strategist Zhuge Liang known as the "Sleeping Dragon," who may have inspired the constellation name of Sangonomiya Kokomi ("Sleeping Dragoness").
- The same word play is seen in the Chinese version of Watatsumi Sightseeing, the first part of her Story Quest Warriors' Dreams Like Spring Grass Renewing.
