Firnas is a quest-exclusive NPC and Sumeru Akademiya's current Kshahrewar Sage.

Profile

Hosseini mentions him in passing while talking about "our great tutor Firnas."^[1] After Azar and the Fatui's conspiracy to build a new god was foiled and the previous Kshahrewar Sage was removed from their position, Firnas became the new Kshahrewar Sage.^[2]

A "great master Firnas" is mentioned in Wings of the Forest's description, which recounts how he tried, and failed, to invent a Wind Glider that did not require Barbatos' blessings. The narrator emphasizes twice that this Firnas "is not the current great lecturer."

Etymology

• Firnas is named after Abbas ibn Firnas, a Berber Andalusian polymath during the Islamic Golden Age who is particularly known for his contributions to astronomy and engineering.
