Hintsa is a mechanic who apprenticed under Aino and now works for Rossum Workshop. He typically makes and repairs simple machines, but also maintains some of Aino's more complex inventions, such as Jahoda's and Sousi's mechanical arms.

When Hintsa first came to Nod-Krai, he had no funds and no prospects. Fortunately, Nefer decided to sponsor him, loaning him money to study under Aino and introduced him to the Voynich Guild, which allowed him to build up his skillset and establish a stable career as an engineer. In return, he acts as one of her informants and prioritizes her commissions. However, likely due to Nefer's sponsorship, he is also 3.1 million Mora in debt — a cost that his family is unaware of.

According to Nefer, Hintsa is honest, gentle, and sociable, and can often be found chatting with friends at The Flagship.^[1]

Hintsa: Anyway, I'll have to be more careful in the future. Since the work I'm currently doing was assigned by Aino herself, there shouldn't be any issues..

Hintsa: Maybe I just don't have this flexible "space" in my brain like she does, where she can just mentally put everything together.

Hintsa: She says it's easy... But it's actually a tall order for most.
