Leone means "lion" in Italian.
- Leone and her younger sister, Argalia, is possibly a reference to Argalia, the brother of Angelica, a character in the epic poem Orlando innamorato by Matteo Maria Boiardo. Argalia assumed the identity of a knight named Uberto dal Leòne in the story.
