Nkrumah is an event-exclusive NPC who appeared in the event Where Waves Meet the Reef.

Profile

Nkrumah is a member of the Masters of the Night-Wind. He went to Nasha Town to participate in its trade expo, selling various items from Natlanese culture. These included depleted fragments of a Wayob pillar, which he marketed as "Wayob fragments", a premium product he was paid a very high price to sell, as outsiders did not know much about the nation's culture. He registers with the Voynich Guild and demands that his stock of woven scrolls be kept in pristine condition. Claiming that the scrolls are rare and very fragile historical relics, he is unsatisfied with the storage warehouse the Voynich Guild has provided for the vendors' goods, which Jahoda found entirely unreasonable.

After the expo is set up, Nkrumah is surprised to see Tumaini alongside Jahoda when they come to mediate his request. Aware of their connections with the other heroes of Natlan and dropping his demands, he begs the Traveler not to tell Citlali of his endeavor. Unfortunately for him, Chasca ends up bringing Citlali to the expo when she receives word from her own tribe that someone was reportedly selling pieces of Natlan's Wayob. Nkrumah is terrified to see Citlali, who inspects the fragments and realizes their true nature, essentially making them (expensive) pieces of rock and nothing more. Citlali decides not to punish him seeing that there was no actual harm alongside the Traveler's request, but warns him that he'll be going straight to their chief Biram to explain himself once the expo concludes.

Etymology

• Kwame Nkrumah (born Francis Nwia Kofi Ngonloma) was a Ghanaian politician, political theorist, and revolutionary. He served as Prime Minister of the Gold Coast from 1952 until 1957, when it gained independence from the United Kingdom. He was then the first prime minister and then the president of Ghana, from 1957 until 1966.
