UI Quest Quest Description

Listen to the ghosts' whispers and retrieve their names.

Day 1

(Approach the peculiar cooking pot)
Paimon: Uhh... Is Paimon seeing things, or is that cooking pot over there... moving?
(After using the peculiar cooking pot once)
???: Ugh. Out of the pot too early... and there’s something off about the plating, too...
(After using the peculiar cooking pot twice)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Hey, newbie. You can't be making food like that.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: We're making rations for the Ratniki on the island, so we've gotta cook it to their tastes.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: These dishes won't do at all. First, your heat control's terrible, and second, this stuff doesn't suit our diet. That's gotta change.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: You've still got a lot to learn — I suggest starting from our most basic dishes, like Nod-Krai Hot Dogs. Come back and show me once you're done.
(Cook a Normal or Delicious Nod-Krai Hot Dog with the peculiar cooking pot)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Mmm, the sausage is nicely grilled.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: You'd make a half-decent sous chef if you were working in a restaurant outside, I'd say.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: But we're making meals for every Ratnik on this island. So it's not about how fancy the food is, but whether it's plentiful enough.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Make the bread thicker. There's not a ton of vegetables right now, and you could also add some meats apart from sausages.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: You still need more practice! Come back next time and make some Berries and Fried Meat.

Day 2

(Cook a Normal or Delicious Berries and Fried Meat with the peculiar cooking pot)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Mm. The meat's been sliced into sizable chunks, then fried perfectly after that. Not bad.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: But let me remind you. When making fried meat, you must consider your side dishes.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: It's easy to get stuffed from eating too much meat. That's why the berries are there.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Here on this island, we're in charge of everyone's dietary health, so a balance must be struck between vegetables and meat.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: This dish doesn't have enough such veggies on the side. We can't have that here.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: You need to practice more. Come back next time and whip up some Lakkaberry Madame.

Day 3

(Cook a Normal or Delicious Lakkaberry Madame with the peculiar cooking pot)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: The chicken's flavorful, and there are sufficient side dishes. You tryin' to make it tough for me to nitpick, huh?
Food-Obsessed Phantom: ...Heh. Whatever. Not that I was ever looking to find fault with you newbies specifically.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: I'm just a chef. I just do my job, and I want to do it well.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: And to that end, I made all kinds of preparations for the Wild Hunt's arrival.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: But it's a pity... I couldn't send them the finished dishes in time... The food wound up spilled... spilled...
(Quest ends)

Post-Quest Dialogue

Available one daily reset after completing the quest.

(Talk to the Food-Obsessed Phantom near the cooking pot)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Nod-Krai is close to the sea, and Smoked Fish Steak has been a staple here for ages. All the old folks know how to make it.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: It's not a taste you'd ever forget once you've had it. *sigh* I wish I could've tried it one more time...
(Cook any quality Smoked Fish Steak with the nearby peculiar cooking pot for the first time)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: If you're by the sea, fish is the natural food of choice — and you did a good job with this one.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Nod-Krai is close to the sea, and smoked fish has been a staple here for ages. All the old folks know how to make it.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: (‍Lad‍/Lass‍), you're a dab hand in the kitchen, sure, but traditional Nod-Krai smoked fish is not cured in this way.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: It's not a taste you'd ever forget once you've had it. *sigh* I wish I could've tried it one more time...
(Cook a Long Night Alight by using Flins cooking Smoked Fish Steak with the nearby peculiar cooking pot for the first time)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Ah, that's the stuff! That's the flavor!
Food-Obsessed Phantom: I started learning to cook when I was a teenager. The Smoked Fish Steak my Granny would make... That's what it tasted like.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Only the older folks still make it in this flavor. Ah, how nostalgic.
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Granny could call out to me, telling me to eat: "Jaakob! Granny's made fish! Eat it while it's fresh!"
Food-Obsessed Phantom: It's been a long time since I last saw her... Maybe I'll go visit next month while I'm on leave... next month... how long has it been...
(Talk to the Food-Obsessed again, after cooking a Long Night Alight)
Food-Obsessed Phantom: Only the older folks still make it in this flavor. Ah, how nostalgic.
