Aether and Lumine redirect here. For non-Traveler versions, see Traveler's Sibling.
The Traveler is the playable protagonist of Genshin Impact. In the opening cutscene, twin siblings from another world travel through the universe, until Asmoday blocked their path. The player gets to choose either Aether (male) or Lumine (female) as the Traveler and the Traveler's Sibling becomes captured.
Their power to travel is sealed, leaving them stranded on Teyvat. They save Paimon by fishing her out of the water and she accompanies them as their new travel companion. Together they set out on a journey to find The Seven and reunite with the Traveler's lost sibling.
Although players can choose the name they want to be referred by, the Traveler's Sibling refers to the Traveler by their real name, regardless of their custom name. In Natlan, the Traveler also gains the Ancient NameTMN ("TMN," Tumaini).

At the beginning of the game and in The Crux Clash in Chapter II: Prologue - Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves, the Traveler is "unaligned," a special elemental state exclusive to them. When unaligned, the color of the Traveler's "vision" and background when they are selected in the Character Menu is gray. Although the Traveler's Profile lists their Constellation properly as Viator/Viatrix, attempting to open the Constellation tab will show a blank screen with "Constellation Unavailable" in the bottom-right corner. When unaligned, the Traveler has only one talent, Normal Attack: Past Memories.
When unaligned, screens that show character cards with their elements show a gray "no" symbol (🚫︎) in the place of the element symbol.
Shortly after the beginning of the game, the Traveler will unlock their Anemo Talents and Constellation by resonating with the first Statue of The Seven in Mondstadt. They can resonate with any other Statue of The Seven they find and change their element to match the statue's element. See Teyvat for each region's element.
However, the Traveler does not immediately gain the Pyro element upon resonating with a Statue of The Seven in Natlan, due to corrupted Ley Lines in the region. They instead unlock their abilities during Where All Hopes Lie in Chapter V: Act V - Incandescent Ode of Resurrection, and are able to properly resonate with Natlan's Statues of the Seven following this quest.
The Traveler is able to gain additional talents for each element due to Columbina removing the restrictions placed upon them by the world. They unlock these effects after completing step 7 of Welkin Moon's Homecoming in Song of the Welkin Moon: Act VIII - True Moon. Additionally, their stats are increased for each element whose Statues of the Seven the Traveler has resonated with.
Passive Talent 1, Slitting Wind: "The last hit of a Normal Attack combo unleashes a wind blade, dealing 60% of ATK as Anemo DMG to all opponents in its path."
The wind blade created by Slitting Wind is considered Normal Attack damage, and thus can trigger weapon passives such as those belonging to Prototype Rancour and Mistsplitter Reforged.
Grasping the wind's might, you form a vortex of vacuum in your palm, causing continuous Anemo DMG to opponents in front of you. The vacuum vortex explodes when the skill duration ends, causing a greater amount of Anemo DMG over a larger area.
Elemental Absorption If the vortex comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal additional Elemental DMG of that type. Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.
When this skill hits at least one enemy, it generates 2Elemental Particles if it was pressed and 3.33 if it was held.
Only the final hit of this skill generates Elemental Particles.
The DMG multiplier of the absorbed element is 25% of the Anemo DMG multiplier.
When the skill button is held, Initial Cutting DMG ticks 2 times (at 0.35s and 0.5s), then it switches to Max Cutting DMG, which ticks 4 more times (at 0.85s, 1s, 1.35s and 1.5s).
When the skill button is pressed, it will immediately trigger Initial Storm DMG.
Elemental Absorption can occur from both elements on the target as well as elements afflicting the Traveler.
Unlike other Talents with Elemental Absorption, Anemo Traveler's absorption priority is Cryo / Frozen > Pyro > Hydro > Electro.
Passive Effects
Passive Talent 2, Second Wind: "Palm Vortex kills regenerate 2% HP for 5s. This effect can only occur once every 5s."
Constellation Effects
Constellation Level 1, Raging Vortex: "Palm Vortex pulls in opponents and objects within a 5m radius."
Guiding the path of the wind currents, you summon a forward-moving tornado that pulls objects and opponents towards itself, dealing continuous Anemo DMG.
Elemental Absorption If the tornado comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal additional Elemental DMG of that type. Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.
Tornado DMG and Additional Elemental DMG can strike up to 9 times: once every 0.5 seconds from 2 to 6 seconds after activating Gust Surge.
Unlike other Talents with Elemental Absorption, Anemo Traveler's absorption priority is Cryo > Pyro > Hydro > Electro.
The tornado will continuously apply a Struggle state to enemies near it whose weight is less than or equal to 100, preventing them from performing any actions and allowing them to be lifted into the air by the Vacuum Field.
However, the Struggle state will not be applied to enemies more than 20 levels higher than Traveler.
Constellation Effects
Constellation Level 3, Sweeping Gust: Increases this talent's level by 3, up to a maximum of 15.
Constellation Level 6, Intertwined Winds: "Targets who take DMG from Gust Surge have their Anemo RES decreased by 20%. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, then their RES towards the corresponding Element is also decreased by 20%."

Each Elemental Type can grant 1 Blade of the Dawn Breeze stack. After obtaining at least 2 stacks of Blade of the Dawn Breeze, performing a Charged Attack will consume all stacks of Blade of the Dawn Breeze and transform into the special Charged Attack: Whirlwind.
Charged Attack: Whirlwind
Each Charged Attack hit deals increased Anemo DMG. Increase in DMG is equal to 60% of Traveler's ATK.
Every time a Blade of the Dawn Breeze of a certain elemental type is consumed, a Blade Wind matching this elemental type will also be summoned, dealing elemental DMG equal to 50% of Traveler's ATK. This DMG is considered Charged Attack DMG.
Charged Attack: Whirlwind can be triggered up to once every 15s.
For the duration of Charged Attack: Whirlwind, no Blade of the Dawn Breeze will be obtained.
Targets who take DMG from Gust Surge have their Anemo RES decreased by 20%. If an Elemental Absorption occurred, then their RES towards the corresponding Element is also decreased by 20%.
The RES decrease lasts for 10s after Gust Surge hits an opponent.
The collapse created by Frenzied Rockslide is considered Normal Attack damage, and thus can trigger weapon passives such as those belonging to Prototype Rancour and Mistsplitter Reforged.
You disgorge a meteorite from the depths of the earth, dealing AoE Geo DMG. The meteorite is considered a Geo Construct, and can be climbed or used to block attacks.
Constellation Level 2, Rockcore Meltdown: "When the meteorite created by Starfell Sword is destroyed, it will also explode, dealing additional AoE Geo DMG equal to the amount of damage dealt by Starfell Sword."
Energizing the Geo deep underground, you set off expanding shockwaves. Launches surrounding opponents back and deals AoE Geo DMG. A stone wall is erected at the edges of the shockwave. The stone wall is considered a Geo Construct, and may be used to block attacks.
There are 4 instances of Shockwave DMG.

Additionally, when nearby party members become protected by a shield, when the shield is replaced for any reason, or when Geo Constructs are created, the Traveler will receive 1 stack of Blade of Archaic Petra, max 3 stacks. Up to 1 stack may be obtained every second in this way. After obtaining 3 stacks of Blade of Archaic Petra, performing a Charged Attack will consume all stacks of Blade of Archaic Petra and transform into the special Charged Attack: Rockfell.
Charged Attack: Rockfell
Each Charged Attack hit deals increased Geo DMG. Increase in DMG is equal to 120% of Traveler's ATK.
For 15s after hitting an opponent, nearby party members will have their shield strength temporarily increased by 20%.
Charged Attack: Rockfell can be triggered up to once every 15s.
The area in which the CRIT Rate and Interruption Resistance buff is applied is independent of the Geo Constructs created by Wake of Earth and will persist even if all of the Geo Constructs are destroyed.
The CRIT Rate and Interruption Resistance buffs are applied to active characters within the radius of Wake of Earth every second, and persist for 2 seconds per application even if the character leaves the radius.
The CRIT Rate increase does not apply to the Elemental Burst that granted it.
When the meteorite created by Starfell Sword is destroyed, it will also explode, dealing additional AoE Geo DMG equal to the amount of damage dealt by Starfell Sword.
The meteorite explosion follows the default Internal Cooldown of 2.5 seconds/3 hits.
This ICD is shared with the Skill DMG of Starfell Sword.
The shockwave triggered by Wake of Earth regenerates 5 Energy for every opponent hit. A maximum of 25 Energy can be regenerated in this manner at any one time.
The energy regeneration is only for the Traveler, and once an enemy triggers this constellation's effect, they cannot trigger it again.
Unleashes three swift thunder shadows that deal Electro DMG to opponents and leave an Abundance Amulet behind after hitting an opponent. 2 Abundance Amulets can be created initially. Using this skill will reset any Abundance Amulets that were generated.

Stabs at the opponent with the Traveler's weapon, which releases an ice-cold fog. This deals Cryo DMG to opponents up ahead and forms a Frostpierce Star next to the Traveler.
Frostpierce Star
Follows your party members around the field and periodically fires ice crystals at nearby opponents, dealing Cryo DMG. Radiance: Stellar Glimmer: DMG from the current Elemental Burst is changed to Cryo DMG of the corresponding Stellar Glimmer reaction type.
Radiance: Stellar-Conduct: When a Frostpierce Star is on the field, DMG from the Traveler's Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks are converted to Cryo DMG that cannot be overridden by another elemental infusion, and DMG dealt is also increased by 80% of the Traveler's ATK.
The Traveler will enter the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state when inside a Polestar Field, or the Radiance: Stellar Swirl state for 8s after a nearby party member triggers a Stellar Swirl reaction. When a party member triggers a Superconduct or Cryo Swirl reaction, it becomes a Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl reaction instead, and the Base DMG of said reaction is also increased by 0.35% for every 100 points of the Traveler's ATK. A maximum 7% increase can be obtained in this way.
Draws new strength and power from their past travels: Every Elemental Type the Traveler has resonated with now grants an additional enhancement effect.
Additionally, when a nearby party member deals Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl DMG, the Traveler gains 1 stack of "Icepoint." 1 stack of Icepoint can be obtained in this way once every 2s, max 3 stacks. When the Traveler unleashes a Charged Attack at 3 stacks of Icepoint, all stacks are consumed to change the attack into a special Charged Attack: Freezing Ice.
Charged Attack: Freezing Ice
Cryo DMG dealt is increased by 140% of the Traveler's ATK, and the Traveler also gains 2 stacks of Frostglow.
Charged Attack: Freezing Ice can be unleashed once every 15s. Additionally, the DMG Bonus from the Ascension Talent "Ever-Keen Frost" does not apply to Charged Attack: Freezing Ice. Radiance: Stellar Glimmer: DMG from Charged Attack: Freezing Ice is instead considered Cryo DMG of the corresponding Stellar Glimmer reaction type.
The active character's Elemental Mastery is increased by 60 for 5s when an opponent is hit by an ice crystal fired by the Elemental Skill Ice Fog Piercer. Additionally, when a character affected by the aforementioned effect triggers a Stellar Glimmer reaction or deals Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG, the Elemental Mastery boost described above will be increased to 120 for its duration.
Every stack of Frostglow consumed when using the Elemental Burst Frostbound Javelin increases Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by other party members by 5% for 15s. A maximum 40% increase can be obtained in this way.
Additionaly, because Anemo and Pyro are already acquired prior to completing the quest, those stat increases will automatically be active upon completing the quest.
