Ace: Impressive. To have landed an internship at Pearluxe Corp at this young age, you're clearly destined for great things.

Ace: But let me give you a friendly heads-up: Even the brightest young talent could use guidance from a seasoned veteran as they start out in the real world.

Ace: But don't worry. Lucky for you, you're looking at a P19 corporate rank employee of the Strategic Investment Department. So, what do you say? Care to connect?

P19...

Let me get this straight. Guide who...?

Ace: Haha, think you don't need my guidance? Alright then, let's put you to the test. Do you know the Seven Principles of office politics? Do you know how to commit every executive's birthday to memory? Or how to sabotage a coworker without leaving a trace?

Ace: See? Got you stumped, didn't I? No worries. Just stick with me, and this stuff will all click into place before you know it.

Ace: Oh, I get it. A "hotshot" like you didn't get here on brains alone. You've got some serious advantages or backing, am I right?

Ace: But let me tell you, Pearluxe Corp is another world, nothing like those small-time companies out there... Unless you've got backing as solid as those Nameless folks from the Astral Express, you either know how to play the social game, or climbing that ladder's gonna be one heck of a struggle.

Ace: Oh! Gotcha, sorry about that... Haha, that's a good one. If you're a Nameless, I'm one of the Ten Stonehearts.

Ace: Oh? Are you famous or something...? Well, doesn't matter. I know you now.

Ace: Not to toot my own horn, but yours truly here managed to ace twenty rounds of interviews and beat out thousands of competitors... all on my own merit, mind you.

Ace: Not to mention, I've been here for five years, which means my experience is nothing to scoff at. I've even had the honor of working under Director Aventurine himself.

Ace: Just so we're clear, I'm only offering because I like the cut of your jib and can see real talent in you. If it were anyone else coming to me for help, I'd think twice about it, believe me.

Ace: Well now, have I convinced you? Ready to get my info?

Ace: Hey, hey, hey, watch your words there... Calling it "hitting on people" is way off-base. This is "friendly networking," building connections, you know?

Ace: What I'm doing here is expanding my social circle, bringing coworkers closer together, and fostering a harmonious, supportive workplace where everyone thrives together!

Ace: So, um... don't go running to the higher-ups tattling about how I'm not working enough hours or whatever, okay?

Ace: Absolutely! Allow me to enlighten you: Confidence is the cornerstone of a winning mindset...

Ace: Ahem... it's called being strategic! Besides, just making it into Pearluxe Corp already puts us in the top tier. So I suggest you fix that attitude, pronto!

Ace: Listen... forget the office gossip. Your only job right now is to survive the internship. Clear?

Ace: A senior whose memory I hold dear — may the Amber Lord have mercy on his soul — once said, "The ultimate rule of the corporate jungle is this: no friends, no enemies, only prey!"

Ace: You know him too? Then why are you asking if I have friends? It's like you didn't listen to a single thing I said.

Ace: To be honest, he had a very specific niche at the IPC. Now that he's gone, there's a bit of a vacancy in that ecosystem.

Ace: I think the best way to honor him is to feast on his "whale fall" and take over the ecological niche he once filled. I'm sure he'd be happy to see someone fill his shoes!

Ace: If you can wrap your head around his "Prey Theory," come work with me. We'll make a great team and claim his niche for ourselves. I promise I won't betray you... until the job is done, at least.
