Part 1
Speak with the researchers
Mission DescriptionYou hear an argument among the researchers on the space station, go and check out what the matter is.- (Approach researchers)
- Hungry Researcher: Oh, I'm starving!
- Hungry Researcher: Why is my food still not here!?
- (Speak to researchers)
Listen- Hungry Researcher: Where's our food!? Don't waste our time! We need to do research!
- Hungry Researcher: Seriously, I need to work on my Curio report.
- Hamstrung Researcher: We're trying to figure it out...
What's happening here?- Hungry Researcher: A robot delivers our meals here, but it's late. We've been waiting for ages.
- Hamstrung Researcher: Don't worry. We've got people coming over with the food. No one will go hungry here.
- Hungry Researcher: It's one thing to eat late, but you need to figure out what exactly happened with the robots so this won't happen again!
- Hamstrung Researcher: Leave it to us. We'll get to the bottom of it.
Something happened with the robots?
- Hamstrung Researcher: We use robots to deliver meals, but recently they keep failing the deliveries.
Robots can cook?
- Hamstrung Researcher: No, our Service Department makes the meals. The robots just deliver them.
- Hamstrung Researcher: Those robots were fine just before, but suddenly they've all broken down.
- Hungry Researcher: Thank goodness I brought some nutrient gel with me today. Otherwise, I'd have fainted from an empty stomach.
- Hamstrung Researcher: I just got a message that the food is here. Please go and have something to eat, everyone.
- (Hungry researchers leave)
- Hamstrung Researcher: You're (Trailblazer), right? Please, can I have a word with you?
- Hamstrung Researcher: I've asked maintenance to check on the robots, but they never replied.
- Hamstrung Researcher: I'm too busy to leave my post right now. Are you able to go and see what's going on?
Can I say no?
- Hamstrung Researcher: Please... I need your help on this...
Piece of cake. You chose the right person for the job.
- Hamstrung Researcher: Thank you so much.
- Hamstrung Researcher: I'm so sorry to trouble you!
Ask the maintenance engineer about the meal-delivery robot
Step DescriptionThe meal-delivery robot malfunctioned, but the Service Department staff member is indisposed, so you are tasked to ask the maintenance engineer about it.- (Talk to Maintenance Engineer)
- Maintenance Engineer: What do you need? If you want anything fixed, put in an application through the terminal.
(Ask him about the robots)- Maintenance Engineer: Oh, you mean the maglev robots. To be honest, they're actually giving me a big headache.
- Maintenance Engineer: I've wanted to take them apart for ages and see what's wrong... But it's a good thing I haven't done that, otherwise they'd void their warranty.
Why aren't you taking them apart? Aren't you the engineer?
- Maintenance Engineer: Yes, but this thing is special!
"Void their warranty"?
- Maintenance Engineer: Yes! This thing is still in its warranty period!
- Maintenance Engineer: Lead Researcher Asta bought these robots with her own money. They are all custom-made and cost a lot.
- Maintenance Engineer: I'd have taken them apart ages ago if they were some ordinary gadgets, but the manual says—
- Maintenance Engineer: "Should the product be tampered with, it will no longer be under warranty from the Interastral Peace Appliances' Service Center."
- Maintenance Engineer: This thing is so expensive — and it's a gift from the lead researcher. Of course I don't dare to just take it apart! I better wait for their support services to turn up.
It's just pocket change. Asta won't mind.
- Maintenance Engineer: Seriously? You better not be kidding.
What are the other researchers meant to do, then? Just keep waiting for their food?
- Maintenance Engineer: Um, the Service Department should be able to handle it?
- Maintenance Engineer: You're right. Lemme see... There's damage on the base, so some parts might have fallen out. As for where they might've gone... maybe on the meal delivery route the robots take?
- Maintenance Engineer: Could you please help me see if there are any loose parts around the robots' route?
Find the missing parts of the meal-delivery robot
Step DescriptionThe maintenance engineer's initial estimate is that a loose part fell off the meal-delivery robot. Collect the part for him and return to verify whether his guess is correct.
Give the parts to the maintenance engineer
Step DescriptionThe maintenance engineer's initial estimate is that a loose part that fell off the meal-delivery robot. Collect the part for him and return to verify whether his guess is correct.- (Talk to Maintenance Engineer)
- Maintenance Engineer: Oh, you're back! How is it? Did you find any parts?
Piece of cake. You chose the right person for the job.- Maintenance Engineer: This fits the outline of the crack on the base. That means my hypothesis is right. I'll get to fixing it right away!
- Maintenance Engineer: Thank goodness you're here, (Trailblazer). You were a big help!
Part 2
Speak with the maintenance engineer
Mission DescriptionThe maintenance engineer has a new idea about the meal-delivery robot's malfunction. He asks you to obtain the error log on the robot to verify if his guess is accurate.- (Talk to Maintenance Engineer)
- Maintenance Engineer: Good thing you're here! I have a hypothesis!
Enough hypotheses. Did you fix the robots?
- Maintenance Engineer: Hey, I'm trying to hypothesize about how to fix it!
What hypothesis?
- Maintenance Engineer: About the cause behind the maglev robots breaking down—
- Maintenance Engineer: I'm not sure about it yet... Can you give me a hand and record the robots' error logs?
- Maintenance Engineer: I need to confirm where the fault is... then I'll have an easier time fixing them.
Retrieve the error log on the meal-delivery robot
Step DescriptionThe maintenance engineer has a new idea about the meal-delivery robot's malfunction. He asks you to obtain the error log on the robot to verify if his guess is accurate.- (Talk to Malfunctioning Robot very close to doorway)
Little Robot- Malfunctioning Robot: Error code 00040. Unable to recognize firmware. Remote connection cannot be established. Please try again later.
- (Talk to Malfunctioning Robot near the middle of the room)
Little Robot- Malfunctioning Robot: Error code 00026. Maximum load reached. Thruster compartment unresponsive.
- (Talk to either robot with red power icon in the far storage room)
Little Robot- The robot's batteries are flat. It is unresponsive to your commands.
- (Talk to Malfunctioning Robot next to wall in the far storage room)
Little Robot- Malfunctioning Robot: Error code 00019. Weak signal from positioning device. Unable to read location data.
Hand over the collected error log to the maintenance engineer
Step DescriptionThe maintenance engineer has a new idea about the meal-delivery robot's malfunction. He asks you to obtain the error log on the robot to verify if his guess is accurate.- (Talk to Maintenance Engineer)
- Maintenance Engineer: How is it? Did you get it?
(Give him the error logs)- Maintenance Engineer: There are lots of different error types here. Lemme think...
- (Error code 40 version)
- Maintenance Engineer: Error code 19... What's the problem again?[Note 1]
Firmware not updated. Remote connection has been disconnected.
- Maintenance Engineer: Not updated? But this is the latest version!
- (Returns to dialogue options)
Firmware recognized successfully. Connection denied.
- Maintenance Engineer: ...Denied? No way. I gave permissions to all the robots.
- (Returns to dialogue options)
Unable to recognize firmware. Remote connection cannot be established.
- Maintenance Engineer: Oh, that might be because of an external impact...
- Maintenance Engineer: Firmware issues... I should be able to fix that.
- (Error code 26 version)
- Maintenance Engineer: Error code 40... What's [sic] that mean again?[Note 2]
Maximum load reached. Thruster compartment not responsive.
- Maintenance Engineer: Right, that's the module with the problem!
- Maintenance Engineer: Thruster compartment... that shouldn't be hard to fix.
Maximum load reached. Thruster compartment needs to be replaced.
- Maintenance Engineer: Total replacement? For this kind alloy? That shouldn't be a thing...
- (Returns to dialogue options)
No load detected. Thruster compartment unable to initiate.
- Maintenance Engineer: ...They can't run unless they're carrying something? That doesn't sound right.
- (Returns to dialogue options)
- (Error code 19 version)
- Maintenance Engineer: Error code 26... What's the problem again?[Note 3]
The positioning device is broken.
- Maintenance Engineer: Um, maybe an external force hit it? Sounds weird...
- (Returns to dialogue options)
Weak signal from positioning device.
- Maintenance Engineer: Oh, that makes sense. It can't figure out its exact location.
- Maintenance Engineer: Positioning device... Lemme think about how to fix that.
Positioning device's signal is lost.
- Maintenance Engineer: No way. It's full bar on my machine.
- (Returns to dialogue options)
- Maintenance Engineer: I need to go confirm the error codes, but you've been a big help. Thank you!
Part 3
Speak with the maintenance engineer
Mission DescriptionThe maintenance engineer has a new idea about the meal-delivery robot malfunction. He asks you to reboot the malfunctioning robot to verify if his guess is accurate.- (Talk to Maintenance Engineer)
- Maintenance Engineer: Hey, (Trailblazer), good timing. I have an idea about the robots' problems—
Enough ideas. Did you fix the robots?
- Maintenance Engineer: I won't dare to take them apart without knowing what I'm doing!
Let me hear it then.
- Maintenance Engineer: It's like this—
- Maintenance Engineer: I checked the main control panel on the terminal. I suspect some robots didn't have enough power or got disconnected from the control panel, and that was why they couldn't execute the deliveries.
- Maintenance Engineer: So, I rebooted the signal transmitter, and made sure the remote access signal is functional...
Hold up. Just tell me the important bits!
Can you explain it to me like I'm five...- Maintenance Engineer: Sorry, what I mean is, I don't think some of the robots are broken at all. They just need a reboot.
- Maintenance Engineer: So, can you help me to...
I knew it. You just want me to run errands again...
Help you to reboot the robots?- Maintenance Engineer: Hehehe. Thank you so much in advance.
Find the malfunctioning robot and reboot it
Step DescriptionThe maintenance engineer has a new idea about the meal-delivery robot malfunction. He asks you to reboot the malfunctioning robot to verify if his guess is accurate.- (Talk to Malfunctioning Robot very close to doorway)
Little Robot- Malfunctioning Robot: Initiating... Checking updates. Current version is up to date. Initiation successful!
- (Talk to Malfunctioning Robot near the middle of the room)
Little Robot- Malfunctioning Robot: Initiating... Searching for remote device... Countdown, 3...
- (Talk to either robot next to containers that responded with "The robot's batteries are flat. It is unresponsive to your commands." from Part 2)
Little Robot- The robot's batteries are flat. It is unresponsive to your commands.
- (Talk to Malfunctioning Robot next to wall in the far storage room)
Little Robot- Malfunctioning Robot: Initiating... Normal signal strength for positioning device. Identifying current location... Location found!
Report to the maintenance engineer
Step DescriptionThe maintenance engineer has a new idea about the meal-delivery robot malfunction. He asks you to reboot the malfunctioning robot to verify if his guess is accurate.- (Talk to Maintenance Engineer)
- Maintenance Engineer: See, (Trailblazer), I'm right! They just needed rebooting. Easy!
Not necessarily. Some couldn't be rebooted.
- Maintenance Engineer: No way!
You're right, but...- Maintenance Engineer: Never mind. Just tell me what happened, and I'll see what might be the cause.
(Tell him what happened)- Maintenance Engineer: Oh, so it completely fits my initial hypothesis.
- Maintenance Engineer: (Trailblazer), I would never have made up my mind if it weren't for your help!
