"Dolly, have you heard of shoes that 'take you wherever you're not welcome'? See, I'm wearing them right now, and that's how I had the pleasure of meeting you all."
When Isee first boarded the Express, he'd perform his stand-up comedy routine every single night.
He always started with the shoes — they were either cursed by Aha, or possessed some other unliftable magic. In short, it was all because of these mischievous kicks that he was dragged to places that didn't want him.
"Isee, Isee! Tell us more about all those wild adventures of yours!" The drunk Nameless at the bar egged him on.
Dolly let out a huff. When he first showed up unannounced, refusing to leave the Express and pulling massive pranks on the passengers, it was her goodwill that convinced her to let him stay.
"Guys, this story's gonna blow your minds! One day, I roll out of my blue velvet sheets, and one second I'm drinking soda, the next these cursed shoes drag me on this insane sprint: I ran through an erupting volcano, dove into pitch-black ocean depths, and shot up tens of thousands of feet into the sky..."
"Cut to the chase already!"
"Ha, so then I got dragged into the Abyss. At first I thought it was a cesspit that stank to high heaven, but it was actually a massive maw lined with razor-sharp teeth!"
"And then what?"
"Then I rallied all my buddies and we chucked a sun right into that giant mouth! And it goes: HOT HOT HOT HOT... I'M BURNT!"
"So why'd you board the Express?" Dolly seemed to catch onto something and asked curiously.
"I told you, because the Express doesn't want me around."
"You think we're idiots? Tell the truth or you're not getting off that stage!"
The young man on stage smiled, his gaze fixed on the starry sky outside the window.
"You really want to know?" A spark of hope rekindled in his eyes. "Wait till I find the true edge of the world — then I'll tell ya!"
