Seadrake: I am Ms. Seadrake, the Dean of Graphia Academy. You may not recognize me, but I remember you...

Seadrake: (Trailblazer), you enrolled on the first day of school, am I right?

Seadrake: Well, actually, I have reflected on this. I always say that I care about the students here at Graphia Academy, but I'm constantly in meetings. It's only natural that they feel a certain distance from me.

Seadrake: Of course, let's talk some more.

What does a dean normally do?

Seadrake: Typically, it involves ensuring the quality of education: curriculum planning, supervision, research, reform... and then there's the daily student management, which covers everything from academic conduct to student discipline.

Seadrake: In short, it's a lot of meetings.

Seadrake: Honestly, not all teachers are quite as talented at chairing meetings as I am. Does that make sense? Most people find meetings dull and tedious, but to me, they're a form of art. Very avant-garde.

And what's that supposed to mean, "art"?

Seadrake: The fact that you have to ask what that means is, in itself, not very avant-garde.

So you wish to learn more about young people?

Seadrake: That's right. Compared to a great strangeling like thundercoil, I'm still young. But compared to the mechatrons, I'm an old-timer... I see myself as a bridge between the younger generation and the older one.

Seadrake: It's what a dean should do. I've even learned all the popular slang and catchphrases the kids are using...

Seadrake: Like, uh, "It's cooked," "Totally slay," or "Understood the assignment"... How's that?

Seadrake: I just saw the number "13" itself.

(Trailblazer): Seriously? It doesn't actually mean anything?

Seadrake: Exactly. The "meaninglessness" is what makes it so punchy. You've got to have that shock factor when you're dealing with the younger crowd.

Have you ever noticed that you tend to... talk in circles?

Seadrake: No, I don't believe I talk in circles.

Seadrake: I believe my words are both deliberate and spontaneous.

Seadrake: It's easy enough to understand, isn't it? I was just at a seminar recently, and people said I really get straight to the point.

Seadrake: I said, "You can't catch students skipping class if you only look in the classroom," and all the teachers there were nodding along.

Seadrake: Ugh... forget it. You only think that because we're not on the same wavelength.
